I'm sure these have been discussed a million times, but now I'm not sure...the seller has really good feedback, so it made me wonder. Aren't these just KOs? I considered emailing the guy, but I wanted to get my facts straight, but maybe he's just trying to pass them off...or maybe he doesn't know. http://cgi.ebay.com/G1-Transformers...oryZ4696QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
They are vintage knockoffs but knockoffs none the less. I have found that vintage knockoffs can prove to be harder to get than the real thing. That is the case here, the yellow slag is prone to breaking. The plastic is very brittle so that is why the high price. I hope this helps.
IMO, one of the best series of knock off's made. BTW, that seems a bit expensive, compared to the one I'm still kicking myself for missing, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350030536003
I'm a fan of these "Pre-history" Dinobots, the six-legged Sludge is my favourite. Isn't it a bit galling to see that it only cost someone $9.95 back in the day!
ya know whats worse....that slag ko also has another paint scheme. Its minor, instead of an all yellow diecast robot chest...theres a nicer blue and yellow diecast chest. Also that mold was reused and modified into a clear green plastic. I have a pic of the grimlock from that series but cant find the pic of the slag ko from that series.
Yup, vintage KOs. Indeed they can be harder to track down than the real thing in some cases, though that doesn't necessarily make them worth more. The ones that seller is selling look in really nice condition but I'd still say $150 as a starting bid is WAAAYYYYY too high for these.
