That big, goofy accessory is one of the reasons I want this guy. It looks like one of those big spatulas you use in a wood fired pizza oven.

Chef Rod is going to open up a Cybertronian Pizza Kitchen.

The DX made very well and the last ultimates are super simplified... Why?

Agree x 100% and, Kids market oriented. They don't care for those details unlike us. Those greebles are so much a give away of the 86 figure. Back then they were just decals. If only I had mad painting skills!

who them? the far too many distracted parents who buy only on the basis of the price and do not care if the child likes the toy or if after 5 minutes they throw it in a corner to rot? because unfortunately the childrens see the hero on TV and want the toy, but then they have no say in what follows...

I'm also not really sure why they bother with the....we call them "greebles"? Especially when no detailing or paint, it feels like they keep cutting a paint budget at the last minute rather than early. Still, better to have the details than no details, especially if fans have paint: Sipher Says Stuffs

YIKES!! As a die-hard Hot Rod fan, I just saved some money   literally looks like a giant-sized McDonald's toy...

and before all the "be quiet old man, these trix are for kids!" comments come in, I really liked the Energon Armor Ultra Hot Rod--
I thought the sculpt was pretty show accurate and had a "cute" factor, plus the odd Egyptian/maybe Samurai? archer's armor
was a pretty rad and unique gimmick too.

This is clearly based on that data, but they just stretched it out and made the proportions look wonky in the process,
not to mention it looks like it has less paint and a much less cool armor/weapon gimmick than it's predecessor... lame.

Not to mention one who’s LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG overdue for a Generations release himself!

I see him as a future Commander Class figure

I understand ease of transformation and the gimmick is what they are going for here, but … do they have to be such horribly designed figures as well? :yuck

Everyone else calling that thing HR's holding a pizza scoop and meanwhile here I am thinking it's a flyswatter

Update: Then I go and show it to a friend and get a picture of a red dustpan.

Trying to find out if it's some kind of crazy Cybertronian update of a medieval weapon or something, and...

...nope, I've got nothing. Maybe it's used for beating rugs? o_O

I like how Rodimus' new weapon of choice is a snow shovel.
