    so in g1, the dinobots were build by wheeljack...
    in foc, they were regular autobots who were given dino modes from shockwave;
    in animated, prof. sundac build them;
    in moviverse... he still dont know

    in your oppion, what woul be a good dinobot origin story?

    I'm partial to the alteration aspect employed by FoC, though I'd like to see more of what AoE's origin has to offer.

    I prefer the Marvel comics. Dreamwave and IDW also used the same origin and rightfully so. Being built by Wheeljack was ******ed.

    But I hate the Dynobots becoming monsters in IDW's Monstrosity.

    I probably like the concept of FOC's origin the most, but it was kinda clunkily done and I'd probably modify a few aspects of it if I was doing it.

    I think just expanding on and clarifying stuff. Especially Shockwave's motivations. A lot of what he seemed to be doing there was "just cuz lol"

    The G1 comic, expanded upon in IDW was the best explanation IMO.

    FoC was ok, but I prefer the origin to actually happen on prehistoric Earth rather than Shockwave thinking "Dinosaurs are kewl, I'll build them in mah shop"

    The G1 cartoon and Animated origins work to explain the lack of intelligence the iterations of those characters have but I've never liked the overly stupid Dinobot thing.

    Prefer them from earth as well. A Cybertronian dino is just too huge for my pretending when I have them laid out for a fyt. Would make my toys waay out of scale. Also love the little Diaclone men as the original riders.

    I prefer the Dinobots to just be a bunch of badass (but intelligible) warriors that happen to turn in to dinosaurs.

    Marvel/IDW

    I still don't get the appeal of the FOC origin.

    I'll admit part of the draw of FoC's origin was that I got to play part of it out.

    Yes, the comic version actually makes sense.

    I honestly thought that for AOE they were going to have them as creations of KSI alongside Galvatron and Stinger. I don't really think most of their origins make much sense. I think Michael Bay had a point in that it never really made much sense for the Dinobots to be well...dinosaurs because there isn't really a way to explain it that makes much sense. While the Transformers do indeed TRANSFORM from one form into another, they're also ROBOTS IN DISGUISE. Which means that they disguise themselves to shield their true form from whatever intelligent species and/or enemy is around them. I don't really see any point in the Transformers WILLINGLY choosing beast forms, especially an EXTINCT one unless there's really a point to them such as the whole Beast Wars notion of "Energon crystal radiation can only be shielded by organic or organic like forms"
