This may have been answered somewhere else, or maybe I'm just missing something extremely obvious, but what is with all of the Age of Extinction Generations figures have a peg near the rear/under crotch area? The only figures I have are Evasion Optimus Prime, Slug, Scorn, Strafe, and Crosshairs and they all have it. Maybe Hasbro planned for a larger Grimlock that the figures could ride? Maybe for flight stands? if so, which ones, and where can we buy them?
I saw this on /toy/ a few days ago. It could for Stomp'n Chomp Grimlock as an undocumented feature or it's a scrapped gimmick that the designers forgot about.
If they made a (good) new giant Grimlock for that, then there's no way Hasbro can receive my money fast enough.
because others have mentioned it, I decided to try it out. It has to be coincidence, but the hole perfectly fits Bandai Tamashii Stages.
I suggest you look up injection molding and plastic model runners, because you seem to be under the impression that transformers are machine-carved.
I suggest you read what I said there must be something new in the tooling that happens to make that shape when they are made. I have done models for years there are different shapes on runners that look common but are just part of the mold.
Thing is they all end up on the crotch or the butt. They all have too common a location to be mere coincidence. I mean if we ended up with some on the shin, or inside the chest in robot mode, or some random place, then I'd think it was part of the manufacturing process or something.
