Amazing. Weren't we just talking about this in the other eBay thread? It's like all the sellers noticed our banter and decided to post all at once. Crazy stuff.
Or now that the fake heads have hit and we've heard fake cassettes are coming people are dumping while the value is still there...
Could be. But until I see more tangible evidence regarding these fake cassettes, I will classify this as an odd coincidence.
Where did people hear this from? Or is this a case of someone saying "It'd be awesome if someone did the cassettes too" and people spreading it?
I see what you did there The only person I know who said they had seen them was Bickmore @ Botcon. I had asked him about weapons for Noise, and he said he saw KO Dinocassettes in Japan.
I simply looked at the ended price for this auction & I nearly fainted out of disbelief. How would these end below USD $900??? I was looking at the auction (final last minute) & thought to myself that it would be great if I could have these for USD $900 but I knew I'll be dreaming. ream: D@#n it! Should have put in my bids for those.
Thought this auction would shoot through USD $1,000 easily. Which was also the reason WHY I didn't bother putting in a bid as I would have forsee myself getting outbidded at USD $900. For BOTH of these to end > USD $1,000 Now that is so abnormal.
Maybe... But in all fairness those rumors have been around for like 2 years now. Could also be that it was an auction in the slow, summer months, right during prime vacation time, in a slow economy. Slipped by at a good price... But it's not like it went for $100. A couple of years ago this would have been a lot of money for this set.
Agreed. I am still waiting for my Fortress Maximus release! Rumors are a big part of our community, true or false we have to deal with them. I tell ya what, when you see me put my set up for sale you will know. Mostly because I would not put them up unless I was 100% sure I was getting the knockoff and that they would be of good quality. It might be possible for someone to reverse engineer a set but the quality might be lacking. I am very impressed with the recent Japanese heads and hope they will continue but until I see it first hand I am skeptical. Oh and yeah, this time of the year sucks big time for sellers. Not much money out there. Wait until around Christmas time, if we get more news about a knockoff you will probably see more people putting these up for sale.
funny thing is, he is happy about the price, only paid about $100 each some years ago and got a great return on his investment. Yeah I was hoping it would have broken $900-1000 for him (help with his car payments and such) but if he is happy so be it!
I'm glad he's at least happy. That's the important part. I know we can all get greedy at times (myself included) and want more. Can't complain about a profit of a few hundred dollars.
If KOs of these are in the pipeline, I just hope that they would materialize faster than fast... ...And hopefully the authentic pieces may go down ALOT in value which I will then buy those instead.
and I think it was the rumors of the KO's coming out that made him want to sell them now... he saw the KO headmasters and was impressed with how good they looked (for KOs that is)
