Funny mentioning that, since raimi hated venom, but of all the movie villains, venom was the closest in looks, personality, and origin to previously established mythos of the character, and the fandom went apeshit anyway. Topher played Brock as a sleazy, whiny, entitled brat (which is who he was, if anyone read the original 80's and 90's comics) and venom had a weird sense of "make things fair" justice...

So it's like spiderman 3. Only reason people saw AOE was for dinobots, just like only reason people saw sm3 was venom. Ads make venom look impressive, ads make dinobots look impressive. Venom shows in the last act of the film, dinobots show in the last act of the film. Fans whine like entitled brats over venom, fans whine like entitled brats over dinobots. Spiderman 3 was most successful of the raimi films, AOE will probably be most successful of TF films.

They felt tacked-on. If you cut out the entire portion they were in before the actual finale, it would've shortened the movie and left it better-paced. It's like they had a complete movie ready, and someone was like "No wait, Dinobots! Put 'em in!" And then twenty five minutes of just Dinobots happens.

They were cool, looked awesome, Scorn did a sweet flip, all that good stuff, but they weren't necesary.

Galvatron and the drone army should've never been in. If they could just focus on the creators storyline it would've been a MUCH BETTER movie. Plus Dinobots would have some story too.

Loved the Dinobots! Loved their designs. The only problem is they weren't in the movie enough. Supposedly there was more exposition scenes with them in the script detailing their backstory but they decided to save them until the next movie. That should have been in the movie and that IMHO was the only fault with the Dinobots.

No they did do somthing, they held the bridge with the rest of the autobots, but no Decepticons went there so they just stood there. Also with Grimlock destroying part of the bridge while transforming.

Actually, the main reason I saw Spiderman 3(and I imagine most people) was because it was Spiderman 3.

And I agree that Topher Grace was a decent Eddie Brock. And Venom started out pretty awesome(that scene where he confronts Sandman in the alley, awesome). Though he did kind of suck after that. But it wasn't Topher Grace as Venom that ruined the movie. It was how his inclusion in the movie affected the rest of the story. And how it overshadowed the main story that Sam Raimi was trying to tell, the story of Peter and Harry. The inclusion of such a big story arc as the Alien Suit/Venom saga in the preexisting story was just too much. It really deserved it's own movie. They crammed too many stories into a single movie, and each story suffered because of it.
