Fairymon's the Japanese name, Kazemon's the English name
For the record, I think this got me more excited despite the Japanese video being longer. Excellent editing on the creator's part. In the Japanese video, it seemed more emphasis was put into naming off the voice actors instead of actual content. The fight scenes had no transition and having the same song going on in the back didn't flow right with me. After Tai, it cuts to some random thing, then cuts to Greymon's fight. The music doesn't even fit when Omnimon shows up and holds his pose for too long. Notice that shot was cut for this video because it's pointlessly long.
The Japanese name was Fairymon which is already English. Yet in the dub they called her Kazemon which is Japanese for wind.
He's poking fun at the dub for changing an English name to something Japanese.
If you're a Japanese person watching the dub, Kazemon makes sense since she's the spirit of the wind but at the same time, why would the dubbers even bother or think to change it to fairy when such a reference wouldn't be noticed by their target audience anyway?
Then again, Yu-Gi-Oh! does this to card names just as much or even more than Digimon.
A new trailer has dropped with beautiful animation.
heavy breathing intensifies
Beautiful animation, yes but so many animation shortcuts are still present.
I don't know how many times I've watched this trailer, but it is just a thing of awesomeness. I really can't wait to see the films.
Oh, some info regarding the film:
Film is 80 minutes long.
DVD and Blu-Ray will release December 18 (less than a month after being in theaters).
Might receive a manga to go along with it.
Looks really good, can't wait to see it.
Crunchyroll - Forum - Crunchyroll Presents: Digimon Adventure Tri
Sorry this is last minute, but Tri is about to start soon!
Make sure to spoiler tab any details.
well that escalated quickly.
I wasn't expecting that to happen.
too bad i don't have crunchyroll.
Guys, guys, have you watch it!??!?! It was sooooooooooooooooooooooo coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FRom the get go you see
Davis and the rest of the 02 gang being defeated!!!
Wtf was that?!?!??!
God, seeing the old gang back together! Some are the same, some are different. We get to met new faces, Meiko is so damn cute!
"Butterfly" plays, "Brave Heart". Gosh, "BRAVE HEART"!!!!! I am not going to lie: when Agumon starts evolving and the theme plays, I started singing and crying! Guiys, that was my childhood!!! No, was unbelieavable!
Even the ending song is "I wish"!
The ending is just cruel! xD When the next episodes air? I need to see the rest! There are some pretty cool new stuff, new misteries, new adventures!
DIGIMON IS BACK!!!!!!!
Oh! Not going to say anything about the final fight. That was frigging amazing!!!!!!
I found it underwhelming for the most part. Two episodes of nothing, a lackluster final battle with little explanation, and Tai's subplot about
not wanting to fight
made no sense since he already had.
Was it fun to see the old cast? For sure. But I really hope the next set of episodes improved greatly on it.
I've joined in watching this show for nostalgia and only just watched the first two episodes. Five 40-second stock footage Digievolutions in four minutes, what the hell? Was it this bad when I was a kid?
Oh that's another thing, fuck the new Digivolve stock footage. Needlessly long and just doesn't look cool at all.
It doesn't fit at all. The Digivolving took up over three minutes! And it looks like crap using 3D models in the stock footage then going back to 2D animation immediately!
Yeah I'm not a huge fan of new Digivolution stock footage. And the whole
Tai no longer wanting to fight due to the damage it causes
thing makes no sense after seeing the events of episode 4....
They could digivolve into Omnimon and their Ultimate and Mega forms from the very beginning. Having the collateral damage these battles create effect the characters can be a powerful plot point...but not when the characters are purposely holding back and causing the fight to go on longer than need be. How easy would it be for Metalgreymon or Wargreymon to show up in episode two and wipe the floor with the Kuwagamon and end the fight before it got out of control?
So when's the English dub with the Saban cast?
I have no idea. I really don't want Saban to butcher the crap out of this again.
Most of the male VA's in the cast like for Tai, Matt/Yamato and Joe have all retired from voice acting though Joshua Seth has expressed interest in reprising Tai.
I just thought I'd point out something that somebody pointed out: this is suppose to be a FILM! Crunchyroll just split into four episodes. Those four "episodes" have to be view together to make more sense. Otherwise,
Also, next film is set to come out March 12. That's one month before YGO Dark Side of Dimensions comes out.
Digimon Adventure 3.. cant wait to see Hikari and Tailmon again..
I like the callback of Tai's indecision. S1 spent a lot of time setting up him being fundamentally stupidly brave, and thoughtless. It peaks around episode 20 when he is confronted by the reality that this isn't a video game and he doesn't have a reset button. Face with that reality, Tai is crippled by fear and indecision. Tai's worrying that he's changed but it's really just that side of his personality coming to the fore again. Nice call back.
I like the updated transformations. They HAD to have some kinda stock footage for the nostalgia and it's cool to see it's upgraded to match the other shows.
Post for part 2. New Megas and a virus Imperialdramon. I'm in.
