So far I have only seen 2 faces on poles. This one we seen on the Hong Kong set and what looked to be an OP head on the boblo boat set.
To be fair it's the only one we've seen so far. They might all turn out to have beards, beanies and pipes. Missed this post. Did the other face have a beard?
This is what I was waiting for, all of this fanrage I'll wait until I see a clearer image of the head, but I liking what I can see.
It's not OCD it's called no life ! I made a mistake on how many have there been now a million and one Star Trek movies , what's next setting up the scene and telling me who was there and what happened , geez !
Looks like Papa Smurf..... oh boy Why do I have a feeling Bay put a fugly head out there on purpose, grabbed a beer and sat down to watch the uproar? Wouldnt be the first time he's "pranked" the fanbase. As long as we get some sleek designs like Sideswipe and Mirage, I'll be happy. Surely they wont all look like this.
It's been four movies, six years, and dozens of robot designs later, and people will still bitch about the Bayformers' unique designs like they've never seen them before.
I was beginning to think the same thing after seeing all these posts on the faces. If you don't mind, please tell me what has he done in the past? Now, I'm curious.
Things like saying he'll release info then later saying he was joking. I dont keep up with movie verse much but I believe he usually does it from his website. (Or, thats where I've heard of it happening).
I loved the designs in the first three. The twins and Que were pushing it but bearable. Everything else I thought was fantastic. This is crossing the line into complete farse. It goes so far towards "human" that it completely undermines making any of the other Transformers look alien. It's pathetic and absolutely horrible design work. It's like they ran out of artists and just modified an existing model from the Smurfs movie.
Of note: He's never given out a fake design. The only instance that I know of where anything was changed was TF2007, where the huge fan backlash against Megatron's original head design caused Bay to have it re-designed. He even talks about it on the commentary to the first film. Every head-on-pole that we've seen previously ended up being exactly what it looked like.
Thought he changed Soundwave's head from the head on pole image we first saw of it? I'm searching for some hope here >.<
Nope soundwave's head wasn't changed. There were just two versions of Soundwave's head....the Mercedes and the Satellite. And the Satellite version had two heads...one in satellite mode and one in the bot mode that was only seen on toy packaging and in the ROTF game (and the toy of course). Maybe if we make enough noise? Maybe?! Sadly, that Megatron head was changed back when the Don Murphy boards were big, during the buildup to the first movie, and we pretty much only got the change because we had the ear of one of the producers.
i know this is waaay out of left field but what if this face/head actually belongs to either Seaspray or Vector Prime hell maybe even the recently rumored Perceptor???.... ijs
By far Dino/Mirage and Sideswipe are my favorite designs in the Bayformer verse, followed closely by Ironhide, Barricade, and Blackout.
I love barricade's design and was sad that they decided to officially kill him off in DotM. Ironhide was also REALLY a standout. I was also partial to Blackout.
