He was my favorite human in the series, his comedy was actually funny, unlike Leo. Sure Simmons had his gross scenes, but his other scenes over shadow the bad parts EASILY. He was actually a like-able character, useful, and once again, hilarious. His scene during the DOTM credits topped it all of and his smiley face made me piss myself.....

 

It's weird. I didn't think that I would, and his character ties into a lot of the worst aspects and plot points of the movies, pretty directly. But that being said, John Turturro's performance was so animated and... well, FUN that he was a blast to see on screen throughout the three films. You loved to hate him in the first film, and even though he had something of a smaller role in the second and third films, he still managed to bring energy and humor to the usually-boring human subplots. I don't think Simmons would come off as well in another form of the film, but within the context of how Bay approaches Transformers, Simmons fits, and comes off pretty well.

 

I couldn't stand the guy. Such a trumped up and absurd role. At least in the first film he was a bit of a threat but in TFs 2 and 3 he was a complete joke. Yuck!

 

I liked him in the first film. He just felt tacked on in the sequels, though. There really was no need for him. Particularly in the third film.

Kind of mixed feelings. There were times when his character worked really well for the moment in the film and then there were times when his character just seemed really annoying and distracting.

I didn't like him in the first movie, but in ROTF and DOTM he was one of my favorite characters. His over-the-top zaniness seemed out of place in the first movie, but in 2 and 3 it fit right in. And I, too, love his "one man alone" speech.

Every human being in the Bay movies was a bad stereotype or an over-the-top comedic character, and Simmons was no exception. Bad all around. Nothing that came out of Simmons mouth failed to make me cringe.

 

I liked him, but I liked Sam's mom more.
