Bay hasn't directed another movie after tlk. Is it possible that his commitment to ruining the franchise and alienating its fanbase became his undoing?

That movie came out 2 years ago. Way too soon to tell.

Not really, if anything. He's still doing stuff outside Transformers.

He did Six Underground that came out on December 13. It was on Netflix but still had a sizeable budget.

I wouldn’t say the films “killed” his career per se, as much as negatively affected his reputation as a remotely and potentially good director, and I’m putting it politely.

Even then, I think the decline of quality began with Armageddon and Pearl Harbour.

If by "killed his career" you mean give him many millions of dollars.

If It did kill his career, it would've been hilarious.

He's also going to be making a movie with Ehren Kruger, writer for Transformers: Age of Extinction, again.

No. He's still steadily working-there's the recent 6 Underground on Netflix, the forthcoming Robopocalypse, and I'm sure that if Victoria's Secret has any more ad campaigns, Bay will do them. Regardless, he's not hurting for work. . .Especially with any connections he has. . .

    Sounds like a Bay movie

6 Underground tries very hard to be at least four different movies and never quite lands any one of them. The first twenty minutes are one stupendous urban car chase—effectively, an homage to 1998's Ronin, but with lots more shiny stuff, CGI, and things that go boom. But where Ronin delivered jaw-droppingly satisfying technical driving, 6 Underground just fakes it with camera cuts, revving noises, and iffy jokes. Later, the film takes desultory, half-hearted stabs at being Ocean's Eleven, Deadpool, and Jarhead—but it can't land any of those, either.”

I was gonna say that you guys are forgetting about Bad Boys 3, but turns out Michael Bay isn't involved. That really sucks because I know it was something he had been wanting to do ever since DOTM.

If transformers kill Bays career well no cause he's a filmmaker and really nothing else. To me in my opinion Filmmakers always looking for that next big project too work on. They always chase that next big project that will get them a award and recognition and be a huge movie at the theaters. So if they have that next big project and its huge they can be looked at from the studios as a winning filmmaker as this is how i see it. It's all about the money and the creative process of producing a great film movie that makes them be remembered for what they did. So just look at Star Wars as a great example as much as i love Star Wars and Transformers.

He just directed 6 Underground for Netflix.

And he's producing A Quiet Place Part 2 and the final Purge movie.

    Do some research.

I don't really think it was his intention to disappoint the fanbase. It's just that he didn't really understand what Transformers is and what it meant for its fans.

Hopefully Bay's career didn't kill the Transformers franchise. :p
