Did the tie-in comics and novels make the production of the first three Bayformers movies worth it?

I enjoyed the tie-in comics and novels. I love what Defiance did with Megatron and The Fallen.

Here's the thing: if the bay films were well-written, they wouldn't have needed those supplementary tie-ins to flesh them out. . .;) :ev: :thumb

I did enjoy the tie-in stories, but I'd not say they added much to the Bayformers films.

It really bugged me when the comics could not one-up the live action designs, sometimes even made them worse. It's a miracle someone could translate them well in 2D. With soo much going on in between the films it didn't make sense either. I did not need 5 comics on how The Fallen came to Earth or became the master of Megatron? Why did he even NEED a master? The Fallen wanted to kill everything.
