Did megatron wanted to shoot prime after making that truce?

Did you think prime already know that megs was going to betray him again?

 

YES He still had his Gun pointed at Prime
and he really didn't make a truce he just
Wanted to be back in charge 

 

Honestly, I don't know what they were going for when they wrote that line in there. Of all the things they could've had Megatron say, why propose a truce? Some people say he said it mockingly, but I didn't catch that intonation. Maybe he was being sneaky and it was meant to show Prime finally done with 2nd chances? In the book it really was a truce, and Megs just walked away. I don't know. It's just. . . yeah...

 

I did catch the part where he said, "Want to be back in charge," so there's that. Did he really have his gun pointed at Prime still? I don't recall. Screencap?

 

This. It doesn't make any sense as far as the film goes. The novel made it very clear what both their intentions were, but it just didn't work in the movie.

 

Was he holding and reloading his shotgun or something at the moment when Optimus grabs his axe and gets up?
You could see Megatron holding the shotgun to his chest doing something.

 

What should Megatron have said?

 

As simple bay wanted to kill megs very fast to save money duh

 

I want peace
kill me now

I don't know I like what megs say to prime, doesn't really bother me

 

Depends on what his intentions were, and the movie leaves it wide open.

If he wanted to kill both Sentinel and Optimus, then he should've said something like. . .

"It's a shame you Primes die so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction!"

Instead we got, "We need a truce. All I want is to be in charge. Besides, who would you be without me, Prime?"

What does it mean?! Just watched the clip on youtube (poor quality), and Megatron's gun is definitely, DEFINITELY NOT pointed at Prime OR Sentinel. He's got it lowered toward the ground and it's clear he's talking to Optimus about the truce, not Sentinel. All his gestures are towards Optimus. It's not like his demanding a truce while having Optimus at gunpoint.

Well when I saw it with my friend whose only knowledge of the Tfs is from the last two movies and he took megatron saying he wanted to be in charge as saying that he wanted to be in charge of EVERYONE. ie Autobots work for him, and he won't disintigrate humans, but Prime wouldn't settle for that. I think the novel and comic ending has made us all think to much about Meg's last words.

I don't think so. What's the point of making a truce if he could have just shot him when he was wounded? He may have tried killing him in the long run, but I don't think he would have if Prime accepted the truce.

 

My theory is this.

Megatron tried to kill Prime in both 1 and 2. Prime had every right to go insane on Megatron and kill him. Who cares if Megatron was being "nice"

 

I think he would have. In Megatron's mind, he is invincible. He beat the crap out of Prime in 07, was resurrected in 09, actually killed him, and survived his injuries from Matrix powered Optimus. He got a little too arrogant when Carly insulted him, so he took out Sentinel and decided he was able to finish Prime on his own.

He sees Optimus as, to put it bluntly, a pussy. Throughout 07-09 Optimus tried to reason with him, and Megatron beat him every time. But in DOTM, Optimus had had enough. When Megatron told him about that "truce", he didn't expect Prime to be so angry. He didn't even pay attention when Optimus said he would kill him and was busy reloading, so he was caught off guard. His arrogance is his downfall much like G1 Megatron.

megatron is better, he was caught off guard. he was NOT trying to shoot prime, when he fought sentinel he dropped his gun. in imax sentinel was trying to grab megatron's gun and megs picked it up

 

You guys are putting way to much thought into broad ending that can be interpreted in many ways. Micheal Bay probably just wanted to end the movie quickly to save the budget, and just threw in some bullshit lines.
