When watching both the very first teaser trailer, & the superbowl tv spot, I predicted that Sentinel Prime would be evil (he just looked fishy), & that Ironhide would die in this movie (seeing him crash head-on into the dreads). I was right about both & ironically, both predictions were directly related.

It comes at no suprise that I wasn't particularly shocked when Sentinel Kills Ironhide, as I saw it coming, sort of. It was a great twist though, & it added tension to the story. I did, however, think that Optimus Prime & Bumblebee would permanently die in this movie, which was proven wrong, though I was close with the Optimus prediction.

Anyway, back to the topic. Did anyone else make any correct predictions about the movie just based on the trailers, before reading the novelization &/or seeing the film? Examples: Shockwave not being the only big baddie, the "death" of the Autobots, etc.

 

I knew Prime would die and be revived in ROTF, just a hunch.
I knew Ironhide would die because he and Ratchet were most expendable without being treated like named extras for the bot fans. I figured Sentinel would heroically die and the that the Chicago battle was in the middle of the film with the last fight being at the moon (hence the trailer shot of Prime leaving Earth 'forever') but I was terribly wrong there.
The actual film did have a few neat turns and twists but it felt formulaic overall and I really should have gotten a more clear picture of the film than I did.

 

I guess it depends on how a person would define key elements. While they tried harder with Dark of the Moon it still followed just about all of the formula that they had used in the other two films. Some new bots and some new humans but most of the movie just felt too predictable and dependent on film cliche.

 

I totally called Sam being really annoying

 

I predicted that the forums would be flooded by rage and whiteknighting; dozens upon dozens of threads discussing the same topics, trolling, hating, pointless questions and the divide among the fandom growing larger.  

Oh yeah, and that the movie may do a lot of things better, but it'd also do some things a lot worse.

 

I was right! I knew someone would crack an annoying Sam joke. Someone owes me a happy meal.

 

I knew Ironhide would die because they needed a major autobot casulity
I knew that Optimus wouldn't die because they had just killed him in ROTF
and I knew the human scenes would be painful to watch.

 

The next thread I post will be completely random, & have nothing to do with Transformers, or anything else for that matter if I get enough people to tell me to do it. I'm serious. Maybe I'll tell a story about me riding a magic toaster through the sewers to buy ice cream with toenails from a fat mailbox's DVD collection while being chased by a psychotic wheelchair throwing empty milk bottles at children until trains covered in toothpaste fall out of the sky, or something along those lines. I'll do it if 20 people tell me to.

 

I knew sam's gf would be terrible and they would have cheesy moments...

 

I know they killed him already in ROTF, but it just felt like it would happen, being the "last" movie in the series & all. Optimus sacrificing himself to save the Earth from Cybertron or dying heroically in the final battle with Sentinel, with his legacy living on. Would have been a kind of decent way to end the series if DOTM was the final film. I honestly thought that Bumblebee was going to die when he tackled the pillar though. That would have caught everyone by suprise.

 

I knew Ironhide was gonna die because I was watching the filming clips on Youtube and his truck mode was notably absent in all times the Autobots were all riding in formation.

However I thought Sentinel would also die, and as a result be a relaitvely minor character since he was also absent in those shots, and it would make sense as nobody could overshadow Optimus as the main Autobot hero. So I was wrong on that account.

 

I predicted Shockwave was going to die, and something would happen to his eye, because he was slated as the main villain, and the main villains never come off too well.

Optimus legitimised my prediction  

 

After reading Sentinel Prime's toy bio, it was bloody easy and obvious to see what was going to happen.

 

It was obvious Optimus wasn't going to die again.

You can have a Sam's Happy Time Meal. Extra meat. Extra cheese. Slightly salty. With free thick shake.  

 

I was predicting that Prime, Bumblebee, and Sam would live. I know they were hyping up this would be the last film and Micheal Bay was bragging about how they would have to reboot if they ever did another Transformers film, but I didn't think the film crew would be bold enough to kill off the main heroes.

 

I predicted it would be a big fluster cuck, and it was.

 

I predicted it that Sentinel was the bad guy and Ironhide died because of those damn spoilers.

 

I predicted:
- A bigass robot with big hammer-like arms would appear wreaking havoc on Chicago [it did, movie-verse Devcon].
- Cybertron would be transported here.
- Shockwave would die in eye-related means.
- Dylan would be EEEEEEEVIIL [I expected him to be a Soviet sleeper agent, though, instead of a liason].

 

I was Predicted of Roadbuster and Leadfoot can talk and Topspin can't before The Super Bowl Ad and The Movie come out.

 

I figured either Ironhide or Ratchet would die. I also thought that Megatron was going to go around the whole movie like, "Hey! Op'mus! I will stap yoooooo!" until the end when Shockwave shows up only to have his face taken by Optimus. That was wrong... I figured the betrayal while Sentinel was at NEST headquarters.
