Did a search but couldn't find anything, so here's my review: Anyone else get these? What did you all think?
Plan on getting Alucard from my LCS once they get their stock in. I enjoyed the show and they all look good, but I really only want my favorite character for my misc shelf.
They look pretty good. Alucard is too blonde but that's okay. I want Hector and the zombie pug. Also, a proper Blue Fang. I do like Sypha though.
I still haven't watched the series. It's on my watch list. Figures look good. I'm more of a Simon Belmont guy though.
The series really surprised me with how well it was done. The figures... not so much. I'm disappointed in the removal of the double joints in the arms, and having Sypha's articulation being hampered by the cloak is a real bummer.
Yeah, I read about that on Toyark's review of the figures and it's one of the reasons why I've chosen to only buy Alucard instead of going all-in on these. One of the bigger glaring oversights though is that Trevor somehow doesn't come with hands to grip his weapons unless you remove the glued daggers from a pair of his dagger holding hands.
Yeah, I read that too. Trevor seems to have gotten the short end there. My girlfriend wants Dracula, so that's probably the only one we'll get.
Idk? This is the first I've seen of a line outside of the dread funko pops. How much does this brand go for?
Wave 2 is Godbrand, Carmilla, and Dracula. They're like typical Diamond Select releases and retail for around $25 at comic shops. A lot of etailers like BBTS are unfortunately only selling each wave as a set so if you only want a figure or two I'd suggest going through you LCS.
I saw one of these on Sunday for the first time and came here to see if this was the case. They all have lots of flowy garments on that don't translate to hard Diamond Select plastic. It's a shame, because the number of hands they come with (especially Sypha) is ridiculous, but they can't use them that well.
These look decent for what they are. However if MacFactory makes a SOTN Alucard directly based on the detailed character art, I might jump for that instead. Especially if it has the animals he can turn into. NECA made a pretty detailed Alucard years back but NECA's plastic quality is the polar opposite of their sculpting so... I'll just look at the pics. Sad no one made figures from Lords of Shadow but given that Konami is historically difficult on likeness approval, could be why
Yeah, I remember the whole issue with the Contra figures for NECA...killed any chances of any further Konami stuff coming from them.
Grabbed Trevor and I have to say, it's a huge disappointment. He doesn't have any hands to grip his weapons with (they're all filled with knives so I had to modify two and rip them out) and the wrists are so gummy that trying to pull the hands out to swap is a 50/50 if you're going to pull the hand right off the joint. Articulation isn't bad but I wish he could grab his long sword with two hands. Also there's NO WHERE to put the swords? I ended up using a twist tie that came in the packaging to attach it to the belt for this picture. The sculpt is really nice though. The accessories are great. But the figure seems so counter intuitive to everything that makes an action figure fun and playable. I have Alucard too, but I haven't opened him yet.
Alucard is the only figure from the wave I really want. The other two are unfortunately hampered by bad design choices.
I wouldn't know. I've not bought any for myself. She seems to like Alucard. Is it wrong that I want Simon even though I know it won't happen?
