I'm sorry, what Brainstorm is on photo? Is it Titans Return deluxe?
Clever move recognizing the design-overlap (or adjacency maybe?) between new Diaclone and British SciFi Tabletop aesthetics. Takara is only going to produce so much stuff, between TT and MFT there's now a hungry troop-building fanbase to feed, gotta get some new designs fro someplace (since, you know, the business model is predicated on IP-swiping).
This is a great move, I don't know this particular tapletop game's designs, but based on the image shown, and my history with (OG) Battle Tech and Mech Warrior stuff, I can TOTALLY see how easily they could make the designs both visually and mechanically compatible with the Diaclone base system.
I just hope they keep pilot-accessible cockpits and cross-compatible ports for gear....seems like they would
Try that thing: replace those upper blasters from the back with claws - they do have little side tabs - then tab blasters exactly in claws, so claws will be holders and You'll have something like two Predator shoulder blasters.
People are overlooking the MegaBloks format for these purposes as well. Can you imagine a 40K Space Marine MB minifigure?
You are correct.
I know this probably won't fit the Diaclone aesthetic, but fuckit, I've wanted a toy of this design for ages now. HYPE.
A 40K guy is one of the few characters that would look good on a Megablock buck. I want to love them so badly, but their proportions are so wonky.
You're missing out, mate. They're easily the best action figures on the retail shelves these days, imho (but admittedly, I use them mostly for customs of 'funny animal' guys to go with my 18th-scale humans).
With their newer, heroic buck like they use for MOTU, they're better proportioned. The arms and legs (but mostly the arms) are still a bit thick/short, but they're much better. I've turned out quite a few GI Joe figures using various MB figures and they look decent enough to me when put with my MP figures.
1/18 Battle Beasts would work well. I LOVE the play pattern and aesthetic, and have more than a few, but as "normal people" they just look too weird compared to any of the more traditionally proportioned TF-scale humans in my collection.
Actually think they work PERFECT for the MOTU guys, those I've been getting without hesitation (not that I NEED He-man to be hanging out with Convoy )
The irony here is of course, that we're discussing in this here diaclone thread, and I'm betting even you guys can agree a Dianaught chilling side by side with a Megablock guy just looks strange (even correcting for scale)
Oh, definitely on the Dianaut vs MegaBlok/Construx. Dianauts look like actual little people, not stylized. The sacrifice there is a more limited articulation to make sure the figure is sturdy enough for play and the figures are secondary to the vehicles, so there are no unique builds or anything like that. If I could have a line if Dianaut scale and quality figures with some unique sculpts and personality, I'd be quite tickled. My collecting is moving more to world-building, settling on the Legends scale + Diaclone for making vast dioramas, Masterpiece + Mega for small setups, and my 1:18 stuff just because of nostalgia.
For me, it's not a comparison between MBs and Dianauts but MBs and DiaMechs. One of these days I know I'm gonna put one of my 'Mechs under the knife and screwdriver and put an MB waist swivel in there somehow.
Do Megabloks/Construx weapons fit in the Powered-System hands?
My mech suits from Bhiner arrived just before I left for work today...
They took much less time to get to me than I thought they would.
Congrats, Robogeek! I'm glad their service is very reliable.
Another bit of story came to my mind when I had time to try out my first huge magnet sheet. Looking to expand it later and try to add some details too. So far, it's a great accessory to get my troops in line.
Lost Planet - Preparation of the Sea Hunter
Earth Defense Command is in an urge to expand their troops to begin underwater exploration and to use the mecha suits against a possible threat beneath water surface. With the use of a forklift, the crew is placing the new DA system to the testing facility. It is going to be a great start to find out the limits of the new sensors and if it has the ability to maneuver well in such conditions.
In aid of the situation, they are preparing a land and an air vehicle. Some missiles are loaded, to test the thicker armor. Overall, it's another busy day, but you can't waste any minute when you have to face intelligent lifeforms and no guarantee that all of them come in peace...
The cost of the official ones are absolutely unreasonable.
^I hear you regarding the official prices. I've bought some but they aren't worth the price after the first purchase.
Troops in power armour. Mechs. Aliens. "Earth Defense Force" . Artificial Intelligence "Quantum" computers in multiple earth regions. Motorcycles . Damn this line is gold.
Why is it so hard for other toy companies to produce something like this ? It's a simple formula.
Sina Visitor System
Picked up some HexBugs sets at TRU. They are so awesome for the price. Definitely worth it to build your own space station. I just made the set as pictured in the boxes, but definitely going to build my own massive station next.
I think I'm all caught up on mechs except for the orange one that comes with Hulkie and the gray one that comes with DiaBattles.
I have a few duplicates on the way to build my mini teams for my Titans.
One of the odd benefits of Diaclone Reboot / MFT KO's is...
I've been exposed to Hexbug racing lol . It's...entertaining in a classic "slot car racing" sense.
