ps. on the subject of Nero, i had been having a hard time with bosses until i saw this :

Yeah, I'm having a Mass Effect fix right now, but I did squeeze in some DMC time on Friday. That game is definitely some manner of awesome. I got the special edition (first time I've ever done that with a next gen game). I love the anime it comes with. Almost forget which story is the game and which one is the cartoon.

 

we didn't get the anime over here in our special editions....

Well Dante already has his little shop, but the age seems to fit 1 or 2.

 

yes, thinking about it it must just occur after 1, (we do our best to forget 2) seeing as 3 was before 1. OUCH MY BRAIN

 

2 was not great, but I like some of the arial moves that gave him in that game, like the running up walls and stuff.

 

if i recall correctly they were pretty useless moves, even though they did look cool. i forget, i only played through about 5 levels before i took the game back.

yar! played it with twist and boardwise. i usually get so angry at the difficulty i hit myself.

I got the Collector's Edition on the first day of retail release.
Unlike Transformers -which was a complete waste of the extra money, I think I actually got something cool with the Collector's Edition.

I played the game nonstop until I beat it on Devil Hunter mode -one of the best game's I have played in a long time.
Nero felt very much like a Dante clone until you actually control Dante.

Dante is much more powerful, and you face the bosses in reverse order than you did with Nero.
I beat Berial with Dante in under a minute (or so it seemed).
Also, this game makes you earn achievements.
You don't get 100 GHEY MORE points for beating the game -most achievements are only 20 points!

 

Played it. Kinda sad that Dante's levels are just going back through Nero's levels but at a faster pace. He does have a nice set of weapons in this though.

 

on the topic of re-using levels, surely this game must be pushing the boundaries of what can actually fit on a disc, the game is rammed with high res textures and effects.

thats my take on levels being used more than once.

one thing i dont get, and it doesnt seem to have been explained anywhere - how did nero get that arm? i have a feeling i know who it used to belong to, but did Nero get it?

 

They never explain it.
It seems like he just recently acquired it, too.
In the beginning of the game he keeps it hidden behind a sling.

Also, I want to know what exactly happened to Sparda.
He defeated Mundus centuries ago -then what?

Dante appears to only be in his late 20s so Sparda must have been around until the last three decades or so.
