They made a few changes from the game this was based on. The story is over all the same but the movie version has a lot more action and they took out a lot of the needless side quests from the game. The ending is kinda predictable even if you never played the game before. I mean I figured it out from the moment someone mentioned that Pikachu never drank coffee before the accident. Though this line was left out of the movie so maybe it wasn't as obvious in the movie version as it was in the video game.

And I still think this is some how a big set up for Deadpool 3... especially considering Karan Soni (Dopinder) also appeared in this movie as Jack... and because this thing exists...

That's not a custom someone made, that's official merchandise.

Ryan Reynolds was also directly asked if Detective Pikachu was just a big set up for Deadpool 3 and he totally dodged the question kinda implying that's a yes but he's not at liberty to talk about it at this time... So I kinda felt like I had to watch this because it kinda seems like he's still playing Deadpool in this movie.

    You're right, it isn't a custom, it's a bootleg.

Weird... it seems to have official trade mark stamps. Never seen such a convincing bootleg before.

It doesn't have a single trademark on it whatsoever.

Have you looked on the bottom of the display stand? Also further research shows there are two almost identical looking figures. However one comes with a round display base with no name on it while the other has a square base with a name plate. You should see the usual legal guff on the bottom of that display stand.

    1) How could I look at the bottom of the display stand of a toy I don't own?
    2) Nintendo, Game Freak and the Pokemon company would not want to explicitly associate themselves with Deadpool, with it being more well known as an R rated movie franchise, and have also never created merchandise like this before, why start it like this?
    3) It's clearly a knockoff because if you google it comes in those cheap boxes you always see less than legit stuff come in.

    1. How can you be sure there's no legal guff if you don't even own one?
    2. Sure seems like they want to be associated with Deadpool to me... considering they cast two actors from Deadpool in Detective Pikachu.
    3. I always see less than legit stuff come in boxes that don't even use the official names of the characters or franchise... you know because they'd get sued if they used the actual names. Hey look actual names! He's not called something stupid like Chaos Paladin (The Fallen Megatronus Prime)

    Right...cool. It's a bootleg though.

Not a single company logo on it, and when you search for it, it's on sites that allow to sell bootlegs like this. Because it is a bootleg.

Well, $9 for the Blu Ray, and $50 for the Blu Ray Player, is cheaper than HBO.

Plus more dvds and blurays later..

seriously: cheap Blu-ray player, find a used dvd place, pick up a bunch of cheap stuff and you got lots to watch.

i traded in a bunch of crap the other day and got lots new stuff. What i bought ended up matching my trade in credit. Got some more stuff i upgraded to trade in and get more stuff.

And, if that doesn't sell you, don't forget all the cheap places to rent movies too. Redbox, Netflix, ect. These things are really really cheap. I've picked up quite a few at goodwill too.

You can buy a cheap dvd player for $10 to $20 new today or buy a used one at a thrift store or flea market for $2 to $5!
