why not just paint all the silver bits gold. silver and gold do not really go well like that.

I guess I'll be getting this one too after all. Really wish Asia included Japan. Sure is weird how Japan gets left out of Asia, here  I know Takara deals in Japan and Hasbro everywhere else, but it's still weird how Japan isn't part of the Asian sales.

 

I love the darker colors on that Prime. The dark red especially looks really nice, but the darker blue and the darker grey is also very much appreciated.

Don't care much for the black in his torso, but can live with it. Would've preferred a dark grey.

But the goldchrome I really don't like. Don't care about the link to a previous release, it just doesn't fit IMO. Feel the same about the clear plastic trailer. Would've preferred a completely black or very dark grey trailer.

 

Honestly, there are some aspects of the Year of the Horse Prime colour scheme that I find really appealing. The darker blue looks better than the Takara release and definitely better than the bright blue of the earlier Hasbro one. The dark red is also quite striking. If Hasbro ever decides to rerelease MP10 I would love to see these colours used. The other thing that I really like are the vents on his legs being blue rather than silver, a detail that seems more consistent with the original Prime IMO.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing those Starscream colors on the voyager version of that mold.

Nope BBTS and Amazon Exclusive- As of Now. Jetwing Prime was an Amazon Exclusive for Xmas 2012, but went to TRU in 2013, so if Amazon or BBTs stock doesnt move well, possible to see that at TRU down the road, but no time soon.

 

Starscream looks much better than the original version. I might try to track one down. Optimus just looks flat out gross to me.

 

is it me or do primes arms seems to have a black(ish) wash? especially where the triangles are on the forearms?

 

That's what I'm seeing. If you look at both arms in that area they both look like it.

 

Looks like the same clear red plastic used on the hips?

 

With that photo, I can see some really good shots in the super clean thread in our near future.

At first I thought "I'll get it for the heck of it", then "I'll get it for the trailer", then "I wish prime wasn't gold, but I'll overlook it", then "I don't know, its kinda cool", to now "man, I think that prime looks great and the trailer is super sweet". I think now that I'm looking at it as its own thing as opposed to wishing it was the standard MP-10/Hasbro OP, I'm really digging it as a cool variant.

 

Seeing this Prime color variation makes me sad that I sold my MP-8X King Grimlock
