I wouldn't mind doing VOG with someone as no one does VOG anymore. Good thing you found a group that still does the old raids. Been trying to get The Ram helmet for my Warlock for quite some time. Ignored it when Xur had it for sale, bought as many helmet engrams as I could the week before last with no luck and missed the week after that. This week however, I bought 3 Exotic helmet engrams and the last one turned out to be The Ram.
Xur hasn't sold The Ram yet. He's sold the Nothing Manacles and Purifier Robes, but not The Ram. As for my engram buying, after spending all of my current motes today, on my last engram I finally got the Celestial Nighthawk! Also this happened in Trials. Whoops. (I'm ZeroRequiem)
Hmm...don't know why, but I thought I remembered seeing The Ram on sale one of the first few week HoW came out. Oh well, I'm just glad I finally got The Ram. Now if I could only get Ghorn.
Just got the last 2 chest I was missing on Mars, now I need to beat PoE, Atheon and Crota all on Hard Difficulty. Should be manageable, since I essentially have 2 months to do it.
All I've needed for the moment of triumph is a run on Skolas. I've got everything else. Celestial Nighthawk is frikken awesome. I call it the boss killer. With solar burn on, it hits super hard.
Yup, plus it keyholes so anyone behind them gets smoked as well. 6X damage in one shot, plus keyhole.
I have Crota on Hard (which, we have a checkpoint AT Crota, so that shouldn't be horrible) and PoE35 left. Hoping the swap skills out, and Skolas looses LightSwitch, finally...
Saw a YT of 6 Hunters, all with Celestial Nighthawk, took down Atheon in VoG without even derping with the portals and relics. Just 6 x Suppa Golden Guns and dead. Was like 15 seconds.
That's where Clans come in handy. I got in with DestinyDads - a GREAT group specifically for fathers and working around parental/work schedules. We actually have a Summer Raid Camp going on. Unrelated: Anyone else notice a discrepancy between their Moment of Triumph and their PSN Trophies? Specifically, I completed VoG on hard Saturday night, but I still didn't get the trophy for completing a Raid on Hard (Epic Raider). I mean, I'm sure we'll finish Crota this week, so hopefully I'll get it then, but still...

That vid isn't loading for me at work, for some reason. But to be fair, The vid I saw was trimmed, so maybe it did take more than 6. Lesson for the day is don't believe everything you see on YT.
