I've seen this a few times, and they use the term quadriplegic. Maybe I don't fully understand, but I swear he moves his arms to when he falls. Can a quadriplegic have some arm movement? I am not being an ass, I am seriously asking.
You can have degrees of paralysis in limbs. Sometimes you can move them but don't have full range of motion or full-fielding which makes it hard to use them. So he may very well be quadrepalegic and still have some minimal motion. It looks like he doesn't have very good motion at all in his arms from the video. I would think he would have medical documentation so he could prove he was disabled and not simply resisting arrest or faking it.
After reading the article, and seeing he uses hand controls to drive, I still feel like "parapalegic" is the more appropriate term. But I am no doctor.
That is horrible. I hope the sheriff's deputy who dumped him has to issue him a verbal apology, and then gets fired.
Wow, that's outright appalling. nkelsch is indeed correct, your arms don't have to be completely paralyzed to by considered a quadraplegic.
Yeah, I watched the video, and I'm not clear on why he describes himself as a quadriplegic. I'm guessing it's because his paralysis is closer to his shoulders than his hips, even if they're not actually paralyzed. But yeah, I feel like it's kind of a subjective call.
I don't believe in karma...but stuff this does make me wish it was true. So Deputy I'vegottabadge could get hit by a truck and paralyzed also.
Man he came close to hitting his head on the floor when they dumped him. One nice thing,he's not coming out to ask for money like many others have.
Yeah, if that was me, all I'd want is that deputy's job. But he should go to a doctor, make sure he's ok. And go after the county for medical bills if he did break anything. Shit, poor dude was dumped like a wheelbarrow full of turnips.
That's how I feel too. They should snap his spine as part of his punishment. What a piece of shit. He better never be hired in a law enforcement type job ever again. Scraping dead animals off the road would be to good of a job for that asshole.
As much as I respect law enforcement, they sure let some real gems of people become cops, don't they?
