That's not what the text says.
1/24 is mentioned because that was the scale of the BT so far.
It says, "same quality, downsized to easier to collect size". In this context "size" is not a production number, but the scale :)

Ahh. That's interesting, and from what Kickback has told us, quite costly. I really hope they simplified the engineering then, because making big complete toys smaller presents lots of problems.

Omega Supreme has a FACE! He has a FACE! He has a..Err..FACE??..

..That can't really be seen CLEARLY as of now. :(

Henkei Astro Choos on the other hand is a MUST GET!

Encore Minibots are GREAT additions but somehow Bumblebee's redundant. TakaTom should've replace him with a new character.

A friend just read the clipping for the BT toys... he says there is nothing about downsizing... the article is just mentioning: Binaltech IS 1/24 scale supposedly "the best collectible size". the rest of it is just embellishing words to sell the toy.

    I'm still getting them.. ha!

I thought it could be the case, as Autobase Aichi reported Figure-oh didn't have a pic of the face. Thank you :)

I really hope this is nonsense about the BTs being smaller. I was going to pass on these 2 anyway but I'm still hoping for a few characters to show up, even if just repaints, to boost my collection. At a smaller scale they won't fit in with ANY line I own. Given the still-higher-than-the-early-BTs price and the fact that those pics look EXACTLY like the 1/24 scale molds I think the "smaller scale" idea is bollocks... No matter what it says. Makes much more sense if they're talking about either the line being scaled down or maybe the packaging size?

Oh well. Omega Supreme was already on order - can't wait for that even more now... And despite the season 3 minibots being a bit, well, crap, I still might bite... Even though TFC Bumblebee was fine.

Shame there's still no news on the next Masterpiece.

    Steve.

I don't want to repeat myself about the translation, and I understand this doesn't guarantee anything to most people. Whatever magazine this scan is from, the above article promises more detail in the next month issue. So we'll see :)

edit; The scan is from Dengeki Hobby magazine according to Autobase Aichi. He seems to be equally confused with the article. Can't wait for the update!

If they are indeed smaller and less complicated, I'm in :D

They might be making them smaller to help them sell better, I'm curious to see if this is actually true or not and how they'd stack up against the new Unverse cars.

The toys pictured are same molds as before. New, smaller molds would cost money to create, and would completely undermine the point of releasing random repaints like these to generate income.

I couldn't disagree more. Outback is much better than Brawn with a gun and actual face, Windcharger's head looks like a Go-Bot's compared to Tailgate, and Pipes is an extensive remold of Huffer with much better colors.

Never got excited about Swerve though. He was basically Metroplex's janitor. :lol

I couldn't disagree much more. Outback's on a par with Brawn in my book - he has a gun, but he can barely hold it in robot mode (except by jamming in it in his elbow), which makes it only 50% useful, and Brawn has a face. Don't go dissing him just because he hasn't got a mouth.
I'll half give you Windcharger, although I still like his toy face a ton better than the toon jobbie.
And I'm pretty sure Pipes is a completely new mould (relatively), considering (as far as I can tell) every single component is different to Huffer's, and even the transformation's altered.
Swerve would have been a ton better if they'd painted his face properly, as opposed to the shoddy red splodge mine had. And he's a scientist, not a janitor. You been watching the cartoon again? :p

To the pics: I'm curious about the face on Omega, but (while I'm not getting it through lack of funds) I'd prefer it if the face is an optional thing (a card insert, say, like those with Ratchet and Ironhide), rather than an actual change to the toy (which I doubt they've done anyway).
But then I don't really have any appreciation for the modded toon Bumblebee, either. I'm surprised they've put him in with the late Minibots since he's been released with all those other packs too - wasn't he used in both the TRU set and the earlier Japanese Minibot release? If they have to include a version of Bumblebee at all, I'd second a Goldbug - possibly like the G2 Bumblebee fig with the chrome gold they love so much.

The season 3 minibots suck. Glad I picked up the original TFC Minibot set.
Omega's new face is interesting but I won't be bothering with him, the G1 toys just don't do it for me anymore.

QFT! The season 3 minibots rock! :rock

Not better than their seasons 1 and 2 counterparts, but equally cool.

Only season 3 minibot that does suck is *DRUMROLL*: Wheelie. :p

I remember reading that Takara wanted the line to be 1:32 scale but Hasbro wanted 1:24 and since Hasbro was fronting the most cash they got their way. No a 1:32 scale BT would be around deluxe TF sized.

A Takara Staff has been quoted recently that he wants to create a smaller, simpler BT like toys.

Apparently this is a "scoop" only Dengeki Hobby reports, so I have no idea how it's going to turn out. Certainly interesting :)
