    Wait, I've just read the article where it mentions the new BT, and it says;

"The quality is still the same, but appparently the figures are going to be released in smaller, more collectable size" (The article uses a word "Downsize") WTF

Wasn't there a prototype for a small alternator Smokescreen displayed ay Botcon a few years ago. I wonder if thats what the "smaller" size is.

So if you already got the TFC box set, you got two Bumblebees.

I was hoping for S1 figs too. Goldbug would make more sense in this merry bunch.

Hmmm.... interesting. I was all set to cancel my pre-orders soon, having deemed these figures redundant and unnecessary. But now I'll hold on to them, in case they really are smaller molds. I'm intrigued!

    Except, Goldbug was a Throttlebot.

Bumblebee has been unapealing since 1984, and the cartoon accurate face makes it all the worse.

    I want that Pipes, though.

I SO hope that's true!!!! One of my biggest problems with Alternators was that they were all cars; as they were set to the 1/24th scale, they couldn't really fit in with other lines, which had things other than cars. If these are even close to deluxe scale, I can have Alternator figures to interact with my Classics! I wouldn't hold my breath on Hasbro ever importing them, but this is a case where I would gladly pay the import cost!!

    PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK HOT ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: Just noticed the supposedly 'scaled-down' Alternators. Wow. I might actually give a damn about those stupid things if this is true. I could see that Meister becoming a popular and cheaper alternative for a Classics Jazz than the BotCon exclusive.

Wonder how small smaller is. I'm sure they'll be sweet either way but I was already planning on customizing them for my collection. After hearing this I may have to hold off on getting my hopes up. If they are deluxe or a bit bigger they will fit in with my classics I suppose

Kind of a bummer if they are smaller but carry the 1:24 scale price tag :(

Last thought on this for me is if they are smaller, what if Hasbro puts all the alts out again in the smaller size, I'd have to start all over again on customizing them Good Times!

I can't really tell much from that pic. I'll have to wait to see Omega in person. It doesn't look too bad right now.

I'm glad I have Omega & Astrotrain pre-ordered. Those are the best looking things on that page.

I like the extra detail on Bumblebee. Painted eyes and headlights = win.
Omega Supreme's face reminds me of Samus Aran...

Something to bear in mind about these possibly smaller BTs: at 1:24 these toys were already quite difficult for collectors to transform, and were quite fragile. At a smaller scale (but at the same complexity), they'd be even harder to transform, so let's hope that IF they are smaller, TakaraTomy simplified the design and transformation.

    That is true, Fit_For_Natalie.

If they are somewhat simplified, and they still look good, I might get Jazz though.

Then wait for the Reprolabels set to have the Classics Jazz.

I dunno, I wasn't really a fan of Omega Supreme of the G1 era, he was too big and bulky, the cartoon version rocked but the toy was eh.

It just says "downsizing." I think that could mean the line as a whole. As in downsizing the number of releases, not the toys themselves. It still mentions the 1/24th scale though.

That makes sense, because making existing toys smaller/bigger is as expensive as making a brand new toy (minus the cost of conceptualisation and design), from what we've heard.
