Darnit, this looks friggin awesome! Ugh, I was going to stay away given the high price tag of $250, but man, I don't know. Looking at these pics, that is one heckuva tempting toy.

I was holding off because of my experience with MP Rodimus. I bought 2 Takara MP Rodimus toys, and I ended up being disappointed. Part of it was because at $200 a pop, I thought I'd get a perfect toy. Alas, my Rodimus had some problems. I may hold off and see what reviewers say about this MP Optimus before I spring for him.

I could have sworn we've already seen those MP-10 pics a few times before. Still looks good, but I'm waiting for some pic/video reviews and some size comparison with figures other than MP Roddy before I pull any triggers.

HobbyLink Japan have him up for pre-order still.

On a side-note.... I never managed to get any Masterpieces. They've just always been too expensive for me at this stage. Still, since I don't have the first Masterpiece Optimus Prime, I might just have to buy this one. I'd rather have both, since this one is also smaller than the first, but I'd still want this one first.

I still prefer the old MP Optimus, but this is tempting. Perhaps if Hasbro imports it like they have all the others...

The new MP Prime looks to have a much easier time of tearing his top open...

Agree with that, the positioning of the autobot logo is the only thing that pisses me off, everything was so perfect in alt mode. Regardless im still getting it :D

I thought I was alone on this one :lol  To me Optimus is not Optimus without the trailer!

Looks good over all but dont need trailer or spike and dont like the fact his arms are so long(can touch his knees without bending down.

Gonna wait for the hasbro one:)

Regarding both of them shaking hands.... they should include MP01 Prime walking away with dissapointment , or at least sitting and sulking nearby lol.

I have a feeling we'll get multiple opportunities to get this mold, I'm going to pass at $250. I do really like it, though, and will certainly grab it someday. At more than three times I paid for Faith Leader (who admittedly lacks a trailer, roller and spike) it's just not a priority since it fills the same niche for me.

Prime looks great, but I still don't see how he costs more than Rodimus.

I agree. I'd want a trailer. People are just assuming because previous japanese trailered MPs were released here without it as one of several cost-cutting measures. I would expect this one to be no different. Fortunately you can bet your bottom dollar that several third parties will be happy to provide the missing pieces.

More diecast? Trailer's bigger than Rodimus'? Because it's Prime/Convoy, and it'll sell?

And we still don't know what that Chronicle Prime trailer transforms into. And weren't the Chronicle sets supposed to be released in July?

This has been boggling my mind too. This is supposed to be the (latest) 'be all end all' definitive version of G1 Prime including everything from opening chest to the matrix to Roller to his orange energy axe to his repair bay bot to even accommodating a Spike figure - yet they funk up the trailer with that stupid logo placement. I just don't understand it.

Damn you New Convoy! Why must you try so hard to swindle me out of $250?!

to be quite honest, I probably have more of an excuse to purchase this figure. The only Masterpiece Prime mold I own is the American version and it is starting to get a bit loose of the tooth. The paint is chipped, the die-cast is scratched, the Megatron gun is broken (however, this was only after I gave it to Masterpiece Starscream, how strange...), and one of the pistons on the right foot is broken.

I just hope it doesn't end up as another Masterpiece Rodimus.
