I posted these links in one of the SDCC threads but since it wasn't stated at the Con then maybe it should have it's own thread. Sorry if this is actually old news but I haven't seen anyone post anything about them yet. If so please delete/close this thread. As the title says I found out that the Deluxe/Legends 2-packs are Wal-Mart exclusives. They are listed at $15.96. No release date is given but with the Target packs out it shouldn't be too long. Transformers DLX LEGEND SCENE PACK ASST TRA - BRAWL & JOLT TRA BUMBLEBEE & GRINDOR
The Bumblebee vs. Grindor one isn't too bad looking, but if I were to get another Bumblebee, I would prefer the one in the exclusive 3-pack with the Rampage and Ravage repaints (still don't know which store it belongs to, let alone the price of it, lol). Only movie toy I know I'm getting this year is Lugnut.
If I had to guess that will probably be Wal-Mart too since Target got four 2-packs. That would leave the Megatron Rising set for TRU and the MSRP being $35 seems right for them given the price of their other sets. Who knows for sure. If it is like the Target sets we will know about the time they hit the stores.
These are all combos of deluxe and legends figures it seems, based on what was shown at Botcon etc. So you might be getting a cheaper BB going this route compared to the 3-pack of deluxes. I'd recommend getting the battle axe Bumblebee instead of either of these sets if you have little interest in the other figs that are included. The "DLX LEGEND SCENE PACK" might be the Sideways/3BikerGirls set. Looks like it might be Walmart based on the listing. Although all three sets below have the same price. Seems odd getting two more legends figs in one set for the same price as the other sets.
It may be a cheaper way to get another BB figure, but I prefer the look of the one in the Deluxe 3-pack (I also happen to like how the Rampage and Ravage repaints turned out). I could also just by the Bumblebee figure from someone who just want's the other two figures from the set. As for BB Bumblebee, I'll admit I like the gun-arm, but the chest/torso ruins it for me. Might be more accurate, but it just doesn't look right to me.
That listing is just the assortment listing and not an actual pack. Wal-Mart puts them before they put in the actual items. They have them for all the other toys online also.
I did not know that. This is good for me I guess. If they are only getting these two 2-pack exclusives then I don't have to drive all the way over there to get anything since I'll be passing on the two that have been identified. The less of my money Walmart gets the better. For the last few years they've only been getting money from me for their exclusive TF figures. And even better this means I don't have to actually physically be IN a store. That alone is some scary stuff. It's the only place in the world where I'm afraid of getting robbed inside the store more than I am afraid of getting robbed in the parking lot.
