Next up on my custom slate is this baddie. This Soundwave was based on the Energon Igniters Soundwave, and obviously the base body is the SIege Ironhide mold. Now, questions, who would be a good mold for Megatron? I'm leaning to just using the TLK Megatron, but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good Bayverse megatron body that isn't from 07, ROTF, or DOTM
Woah, that's such a creative use of the Ironhide mold! I would've never thought of that. Awesome job!
It really does. I don't know why Hasbro just decided to throw up their hands and make Siege Soundwave a brick.
He looks great as well as his minions I would have only preferred a more modern head design like the one of the Energon Igniter. And can you attach his shoulder cannon in alt mode? Maybe Megatron from SIEGE, CW, Cyber Battalion, TR or Cyberverse (Ultimate class or Battle Call Trooper Class). I am only going for ones with tank alt modes here. Or a modified Animated Shockwave or Cybertron Scattorshot.
Needs the 80's crazy van paint on it to sell it completely! You can do it: lol Pretty great otherwise.
First of all, this looks great! The mold choice was smart and the execution was fantastic. Second, I have some ideas for your Megatron custom... Megatron Ideas Spoiler So I tried to find molds that wouldn’t be obvious picks, and they would all need a lot of paint work and some kitbashing to really sell the character. The early Bayverse Tank: TFP Beast Hunters Shockwave The DotM truck: RTS Optimus Prime CHUG Bayverse hybrid: Battle for Earth 2 Pack Megatron Left field choice #1: Cybertron Soundwave You’d need to either cut the wings off and add treads, or just attach the fusion cannon to the port on the underside of the jet. This would be more Knightverse than Bayverse. Left field choice #2: TFP Weaponizer Bulkhead The last picture is of a different mold’s robot mode with the actual figure in truck mode since I couldn’t find any other vehicle mode picture. This mold could easily evoke the DotM Megatron feet and 2007 Megatron proportions. With a claw hand, a removable gun hand, a new head, and some sculpting on the chest, I think this mold would make an excellent Bayverse/Knightverse Megatron. The vehicle mode would be flipped around, with the molds front acting as the new back. You could bulk the old front up with boxes and armor, and add a roof mounted turret.
If you put an 80's fantasy art mural on him in van mode, you're going to have to repaint a Siege Frenzy/Rumble or Knok into a Dr. Krieger-bot. (Call him YYZ/WhyWhyZed.)
