Alright, so Deka started out as a challenge of sorts. I saw zoso1900's draft designs for targetmasters and my thoughts were like everyone else's. Why more than 2 legs? Still, i liked the idea of a multi-legged unit, but my idea went off on a slightly different angle. I wanted to make those legs useful in gun mode as well So, i really wanted to prove that two legs isn't always the best thing. Four's too many (sorry zoso!), but three's been used very successfully by many designs before, the most prominent of course being the Droideka from Star Wars. I really liked the idea of a turret-style robot, with three prongs and a heavily armed upper body. This is my vision of a Transformers version of a Turret Robot, named Deka (If you can't figure out where that name came from...). As the Fourth Arquesta, Deka carries out his duties very seriously. He is the polar opposite of his 'brother' Evask. Gatling gun or not, Deka never wastes a single bullet. If he fires, 9.9 times out of 10 he'll hit someone (more often than not, it's Evask). He;s been known to go into battle with only the ammo strapped to his chest, just a personal challenge to boost his ego. To his credit, his hit ratio is the highest of the Arqueste, and he isn't dead yet. Buy Deka here Thanks for looking, and as always, C&C welcome!
OMG!!!! Never seen a targetmaster like this before, very ingenious Love the idea of it manned by another fella of the same size, or held by bigger tfs.. Ok, on my next purchase I'll add it for sure, along with Whirl claws!!
This looks rather good. I'm not a fan of the three legs but I do love the tripod turret and the way it looks in gun mode, so I'm not sure what to say for constructive criticism. Oh, maybe his arms could form the third leg for turret mode. Or perhaps there could be a way to let the 3rd leg become part of the other two. Your attention to detail is getting a lot better as well. This one has a lot more details on him than I've seen you use. You did quite a good job with that regard. I can't specifically say what else you should try to improve on future designs other than just keep practicing. This is a great step forward and I can't wait to see how you keep improving. My last critique is about the head. I'm not a fan of is just chilling out in his other modes. It seems blatantly visible. Granted most official stuff is guilty of this too, but I'd say the same thing to them. In future versions perhaps a hole you can rotate the head into to hide it? Or maybe a cover on the gun barrels that hide his face? Another idea just popped into my head as well. It would be cool if this guy (or his kin I suppose I should say) could use his guns as shoulder weapons while in robot mode. By that I mean allow them to rotate from his back past where they would go for gun mode and come to rest with them facing forward when in robot mode. At the end of the day though I am thoroughly impressed. This guy looks very good. My hat is off to you sir.
I like it but one thing.....I don't feel the third arm out of his ASS!!!(But he needs it to transform and such. )
thanks guys, I wanted something slightly out there, and Petal needed a new weapon, so everything worked out. Trivia: his head does fold between his Gatling guns, though obviously if you look at it upside down, his face is visible. I might go back and change some tolerances, as this model's head doesn't seem to like folding between the guns (takes a bit of pushing). As for shoulder weapons, I once thought of a Saviour Gundam-esque rig, though the necessary joint I've not yet designed. Maybe on the next Arquesta, who knows? Thanks you two! I was going for a Droideka look, but I guess Chewbacca is just as scary. 2 things: A) it's a leg B) if you're feeling Deka around his ass, maybe TF's aren't the right line? j/k you still shouldn't be feeling him around there though. [/lame joke] Thanks! Someone said I had to change it up a bit from Evask, so I thought, what better than extra weaponry?
Just ordered every one of your Targetmasters as well as the WFC soundwave tapes. Can't wait to get these in!
