How can you tell it is from a second batch without having it on hand?

Ask your seller or check the listing. ShowZ sold out of the first stock and everything current from them now is the second batch for example.

Just got mine from ShowZ today and can confirm the crotch-plate is on the correct way and the antenna were packaged in a baggie with a screwdriver.

This thing is great. Feels very solid, lots of ratchets and nice stiff joints.

Wrong thread, chief? Doesn't look like anything I remember from Metal Slug.

Just tried to order this from Show Z and it is telling me that this item can't be shipped to the US. (despite the listing offering free shipping to the US)

I know there were issues with recalled shipments due to battery issues last year. Those of you who have ordered this recently, did you run into this problem? If so, how did you get around it?

    Thank you

I got this in yesterday from ShowZ, there were no issues with shipping, I did notice they had some different tape around the package, probably due to the battery. Fast service as usual. Second edition with the correct assembly and antennas in the bag. This is a great toy, full of play value with the ratchets and lights, complex transformation but not too difficult, and lots of detail despite the somewhat plain appearance. I'm not a huge fan of the dull head sculpt but the tank mode is tops and worth the price alone. Mine had nothing notable in terms of quality control, and like others have said it feels hearty, heavy and playable.

I have had the ShowZ site display this message a few times when I place an order (when I initially try to pay for it). However I just check the details of the order through my account and complete payment there. It may just be an error.

From memory it happened to me when first trying to pay (payment window didn't appear or something like that I think) I clicked to pay a second time and got this error, but then payed through the account screen just fine.

What's up with the different names on the websites? We have Degenerator Industries, CangDao Model, and Zen of Collectible. I've got the 'ZoC' version from Bombusbee. It says Zen of Collectible in the corner of the manual too.

Degenerator Industries appears to be a different company. Maybe they're tied together somehow (like Aoyi Mech and Zeus Toys, both under Black Mamba) but they appear to have similar-yet-different product lines. They're certainly different enough that Show.Z/Gundamit list them separately.

Zen of Collectible would appear to be a line from CangDao (similar to how Soul of Chogokin is a line from Bandai), a catch line for the company itself, or perhaps an English name.

Any idea which run Bombusbee has? Is the crotch plate fixable?

Crotch plate is very fixable. Just 3 screws, slide the piece out and flip it around and reassemble.

Got mine yesterday from showz, it's fantastic, highly recommend.

the packaging shows "Cang Dao", is that in any way linked to the Cang Toys doing predaking/dinobots

I'd like to see it repainted red. I'd pick up a Warpath version for shits 'n giggles.

Also got my copy of the reissue. Antennas in the baggie with screwdriver and screws. Crotchplate in the correct position out of the box.

No, CangDao Model (sometimes translated as CangDao Tibetan Model) is a different brand, they are known for their 1/72 gundam-esque metal build figures:

Recently they have been teaming up with brands for official merchandise like this Metal Slug tank and a Jay Chou-themed mecha (probably the most famous Taiwanese musician in recent decades):
