So for anyone having to do the shoulder surgery for the unpainted bits. Found no advice here but had some time to get around to looking at it and did it yesterday. Its just one pin. push (or knock really)the pin "up" (head is up and feet down is the direcrional orientation here) as the knurled part is at the top. I used a "1.5mm" (really almost 1.9mm when measured) pin punch and a small hammer. Once you knock it a tiny bit amd get it to move, just use the pin punch to push the pin through. Reinstalling the new arm assembly was easier...no hammer needed. One bit of advice is to push the pin through the new piece first just to condition it to fit later when u actually reinstall. So many months later my skywarp is finally whole and rightly painted lol. I actually biught an extra on sale just in case surgery went bad. Lol.

 

And they still haven't included the upgrade wing kit like they did with the first run.

Why would SW and TT be more expensive than SS??

 

Probably the same reason why it was harder to find Maketoys Thundercracker and Skywarp . . . Limited available stock and production runs?

I've got to do some surgery on my skywarp also, got a replacement right side chest piece from showz. I've been kinda lazy about it though,  one of these day I should get a pin remover set.

Has anyone found a good paint color match for the replacement Starscream canopies? So far two good matches for Skywarp and Thundercracker were posted.

 

The lower cockpit pieces you mean, from @transformer_78 ? Starscream and Skywarp shouldn’t need to have theirs painted at all. Thundercracker does though.

 

Haven't been around much or kept up.....did anyone find a color match for TC And SW without having to mix?

Hey folks can anyone point me into the direction of the fellow member here who created upgrades for Crimson Wing? IIRC he 3D printed alot of stuff for the CW.

Just received my DS CW earlier today from ShowZ (DAMN THEY'RE QUICK!.!!!) and all I gotta say is WOW.. Part of me is bummed that my YM MP11 Starscream has been replaced BUTTTTT not forgotten as he'll be in alt mode

I think Transformer_78 may be out of them. In the event that I have to find one elsewhere, I'd like to know if someone decided to paint their Starscream canopy just in case I don't find a good plastic color match.

 

Sorry I do not. If you’re looking to buy fake canopy parts from @transformer_78 , if he has any available, the SW part does not need to be painted.
