Any one know of or designed a stand mount for this figure? My Yeti stand has been made obsolete and looks like Yeti is closed now.

 

Transformed this guy a few times now. Going from jet to bot really informs bot to jet transformation. It gets way easier to get things to align properly. My only problem is the face sculpt. The face looks more like skywarp and thundercracker from the cartoon. The chin is way too broad. Especially for such a whiney ass character as Starscream. Needs a weaker chin in my opinion

 

You know the DS starscream faces are a direct KO of TT's?

The takara faces are identical because DS KO'd them. They fit fine though, just a fraction smaller

 

Not sure if they're a direct KO of the actual MP-52 release or if they were just modelled from scratch using the 2D CAD image of 52. The rest of him was created from scratch using the 2D image so I imagine the face was as well.

 

Much appreciated, but the part in question in a rear horizontal stabilizer wing. (The small back wing parts). I don't see them on your thunder cracker image.
Luckily I am working with another member on the board here who may have the parts.

I don't think you can get it as accurate as this with just the 3D front on cad model.

Getting the rear of the face plates and eye securing system this identical from just seeing front on line art would be some insane guess work  

 

Well I guess that answers that   Now I understand why some stores were reluctant to carry this as they thought it was a KO. I wonder if that's why they didn't release it under Transform Element - it gets too close to being a KO

 

They clearly had the CAD to get the face and helmet sculpt accurate and the fact the KO is due so soon after release suggests it's floating around. I'm guessing this highlights the ties of bmb to KO companies and maybe that's why some stores have backed away. But all that said, the figure itself is completely unique.

 

My copy arrived unexpectedly today and was just hanging out on the porch. QC wise paint seems mostly okay with a few chips on the back. Some dust was painted over on this toy, DS lets wipe down the figures before we paint those bad boys okay? All the joints are solid except the butterfly joints being a tad loose. Other than that so far this is the MP Starscream I have been waiting for. No balance issues when standing up and no glaring aesthetic choices I disagree with. I'll transform it later today or tomorrow.

 

Is he missing his leg wings/horizontal stabilizers?

 

Yeah, he's really just arms legs and core.

Are the faces interchangeable?

 

You can use a tiny bit of scotch tape over the tab of MP-52's faceplate and it holds perfectly onto DS-01's head.

Dr. Wu should do an accessory kit. Multiple faces, additional Null Rays, a cape, a crown, 2 shoulder pads. A Dr. Archevil, and a set of blast effects for the jet boosters, and null rays

 

Blue nosecone painted like all my other screamers! I used Vallejo Magic Blue, which was as close as I could find without mixing colors. It's not perfect but good enough. These are final pics before going back semi-permanently into bot mode.

 

They are not KO'd, just look the same because the source material is the same.

But now seconds later I see the pics of them side by side and having second thoughts about that. If they did have the cad files and opened them using the same software they were created in, then all of the dimensions would be there. At least everything else is different, but it makes it easy, in a way, to have extra faces if MP-52 faces can be acquired.

 

I had bought a junker a long time ago. Ive never found loose wings.
