Whoever is designing MPs over there since 44 think that people won't care about the backs of the figures as long as they look accurate or good on the front.

    Poor Bumblebee 2.0...

I mean, they’ve been right about that. As far as I can tell both FT and Takara collectors don’t really give a shit about anything other than the front facing A stance. You can have a whole car hanging off the back, have shit QC, terrible transformations, and they’ll be ok with it. So long as the front looks good and you give them accessories to distract em.

Takara has stripped down their figures so hard that most of their mainline figures are glorified facades. Turn them around and it's all empty hollowed gaps they can no longer be bothered to even panel off like they used to. Earthrise Optimus is one of the few to actually slap on some arm panels that his hands store in and even he is a voyager scale figure being sold at a leader class price point. Masterpiece now is less about making a good looking kibble-less figures front and back and now just paneling off the hollowness that plagues all their other products now. That is literally all they can be bothered to do with their with their most expensive product line now.

If you switch to 3rd party companies you wont have to carry all that money to get your figures and it will save your back. I've been told lift with your legs, then what bad knees!? No thanks.

Fanstoys has been way better than Takara when it comes to clean backs. Koot and Roadking are their only figures with a back that compares to Takara in terms of messiness and being inaccurate to the canon back design. And Roadking actually cleans up pretty impressively considering he incorporates his trailer, leaving Koot as the only inexcusable one.

Also the irony with Takara is that Takara fans love posing their figures in dynamic poses, and Takara focuses on high articulation that allows for those kinds of poses. Yet the poses reveal all the mess on the sides and backs (case in point, MP-52's sandwich cracker hang-glider pose shown above).

I think they all need to lay off the gimmicks that require extra engineering and materials to go in and work with the transformation, then we'll be getting somewhere.

Cause/Effect might actually work the other way round. I can say for myself that I used to be very fond of TT Masterpieces, but I turned away from them when they turned away from making figures that work from more than one photogenic angle.

Had to round the lower back of the head so that pinned hinge at the back of the head could swing farther.

So, when are Paik4Life, TMReviews, TMan978, Emgo, or Peaugh getting their copies? I’d like to see a quality transformation video.

Hell, I’m so desperate I’d even settle for a BSF transformation video!

Just got mine & he’s absolutely perfect looking. Any good recommendations on transformation videos?

I do have a worrying loose screw that was stuck in the foot thruster. Best case it’s an extra that was dropped in manufacture and nothing to worry about. Worst case it’s something I’ll have to reinstall. Inspected robot mode thoroughly and found nothing missing, so it’s internal item.

Attached photo in case anyone has any ideas where to look

Thanks man! I had them tilted forward briefly, and I’m honestly not sure which look I like better! I guess I’m just used to the G1/CHUG figures where it wasn’t even an option…haha…

I had the same thing. Wasn’t sure if it was just an extra screw. I put it with the alternate face bag and stashed it away just in case.

I got this guy last night and I have to say that he is really impressive. A strong and solid figure that looks really good. My only problem with him in robot mode so far is that it's really hard to put in his null rays, felt like I was going to break something if I keep forcing them in.
