FWIW: I love transforming all of those figures (except for FT Springer and DS-01, which I don't have). So on the one hand I want to say, "MP-36's transformation is ingenious and satisfying, you're really missing out," and "FT Reflector's conversion has its rough spots, yet I find I routinely pick those dudes up and flip them back and forth," and even "FT Cyclonus did nothing wrong, he is beautiful and perfect, society is to blame." But on the other hand... I've never had an issue with FT Galvatron either, so your mileage may vary.

The fact that I hold the opinions above is why I am tempted to throw caution to the wind and get DS-01. But on the other hand, I really DON'T enjoy transforming TE-01, and I don't even remember people complaining about that transformation.

Does anybody else think the DS-001 box is so nice it's worth keeping just to store miscellaneous stuff? I normally throw out my TF boxes.

Well transforming your figures is also like a wholesome loving relationship, so the comparison can work on multiple levels.

Would be, if it wasn't for the mistransformed jet on the front...

That's great if you only have one previous Seeker. But some people are on their fifth (MP3, igear, MP11, Maketoys, new MP)

Addendum to my earlier post about this being the best transformation video. When going from alt to bot mode, at 12:26 he forgets to fold down these pieces that become Starcream's lower torso.

He realizes this after he's completed the transformation and partially "untransforms" Starscream in order to flip these pieces down.

I received DS-001 earlier today in the mail. No serious issues straight out of the plastic shell save for a scratch on the right forearm.

I'll wait for a while before transforming to alt mode. The matte finish is nice and gives the appearance of a true to animation visual texture. Joints are nice and tight so far. I do wish the knee ratchets were stronger or less soft on the detents. The heft is nice as well.

So far, it's a good MP Starscream but we'll see how it holds up over the next few months. That's the real test. Visually, though, it's a fine looking display piece.

This figure went from premiering to mass shipment inside of 3 months, thats crazy, I wonder if it was done in this way to a) steal a march on MP-52 sales and b) sell as much as possible before TT stamps its feet ala Zetacron.

Have we had any other instances of such speed outside of maybe the 3rd party legends?

A tiny droplet of dried glue will fix to help it not dropping on its own.
On my copy, it's loose, but it doesn't fall open on its own

I did exactly the same thing even though I wasn't following the video any more by the time I got to that part. I was like, "Dammit, I made it without any scratches - this is where I'm going to fuck it all up." Luckily I got through the partial un-transformation and back without incident.

I've transformed him back and forth once, after seeing a couple of video's, and to me its already VERY intuitive.
The only tricky part is to know when you have to rotate the wings the correct way

Wait----is the alt-mode horribly mis-transformed on the official box pic?

No, it’s just been the way they reveal and release things this year. Both their 3p side and their KO side. They usually wait and reveal colored prototypes then start selling em off not long after.

You just need to KNOW they can transform and that they transform into something GOOD.
