Just wait for Emgo and TMan978 to post the transformation and follow that.

The issue is more of me wanting figures I can mess with and go back and forth between modes. This figure’s description makes him sound horrible for play…

But he also looks really really good….

Same thoughts actually. One other reason(aside from the lack of accessories) why I was holding back on this is because the combo of "Complex Transformation + Fully Painted Toy" is just a huge red flag for me, it looks good now but I'll bet after a few transformation sessions down the road, that paint will start to chip and scratch.

Why is a scratch that big of a deal?
Its part of the experience, just like getting the first scratch on my newly restored car, just get it done and the anxiety is over. You'll enjoy it way more once that's out of the way
I like handling my figures and if that means it will get scratches, so be it.
Its very rare to have a scratch that's even noticable when its on the shelf

Unless you buy stuff purely with the intent to ever sell it as "new" or "transformed only once"

I've adopted the viewpoint that minor chips and scratches are going to happen and that a robot in real life is most certainly going to have some wear and battle damage. I can look at my own body on any given day and find a bruise or scratch, so why wouldn't a giant-ass metal thing have them as well?

    Tip for toy companies...

Add worn/battle damage paint job to every figure from now on so that no one needs to complain about that there will be scratches if/when someone transform a new figure, because this way there would be scratches already.

    Second thought...

Break the figure and place the figure neatly in the box so that it looks intact but in fact is already broken. This way no one would have to wait for it to maybe break sometimes, because it would already be broken.

Wouldn’t it be a great move from toy companies. ;)

    Third thought...

Some companies have already done that too. :D

Well, that's the necessary compromise for being so clean. Something's got to give somewhere.

I do wish they hadn't painted him, though.

I'm an impatient man, so transformed he is.

Its a mixed bag, its incredibly clever and does some really unique things, a lot of which helps it to clean up.
However, its also not fun overall, early things with how the nose cone collapses into the chest is fine, but getting everything together at the end is just a ball ache.

There is very little clearance in some sections, and you definitely have to do very specific things in a very specific order for most of it or it all goes to pot.

Altmode is nice, no as sleek at the MT, but given the bot is so good I'm ok with that. It doesn't seem to have suffered any regarding the paint either, but time will tell.
There's no reason for no grey on the back, so i'll add that at some point.

Anyhoo here's a couple of vs shots against the MT one,

Just got mine and its Fooking amazing if i had to nitpick I would prefer less (or no) paint.

Good to see no pointless accessories that he may of used in one episode of the cartoon (got a draw full of that crap).

Can't wait for Skywarp and Thunder cracker.

totally someone got to make dark grey/black stickers or just mask off and spray. starscream's alt mode needs them at this point even though its just 1 g1 toy mechanical carry over (the metal ports the wings plugged into). i also like the detailing and panel lines of the DS better.

yah i just got mine over the weekend from ShowZ. Honestly didnt think i get it for another week.

Sentiments are shared with everyone who got theirs. I havent transformed him yet but will once i find some time, it looks like it'll take a while :)

he looks AMAZING and poses great. definitely leaps and bounds better looking than my meteor or mp11.

Some surefire issues straight out the box:

    1) my smug face has qc issues, its missing some paint so looks like he's got a giant mole on his cheek.
    2) his null rays WOULD not peg in, i had to scrape and sand the peg, then grease with some silicon grease and now it pegs in just fine.

    things that made me smile:
    1) POSEABILITY
    2) hefty little guy!
    3) love his colors
    4) his hands are awesome
    5) i messed around with the null rays transformation and love the simplicity of it

    things not looking forward to:
    1) all the squeeks i'm going to hear when transforming him
    2) uhhh ... transforming him hahahahaha

Complex transformation does ruin the fun of it. FT Koot (Kup) and Rouge (arcee) werent fun to transform. clearances tight on koot and flippity floppity madness with rouge.

that said, i dont transform MP36/mp44/TE01 either so no big woop.

I love this guy. I really hope we get some random repaints beyond the usual suspects. I’d love a Nacelle and a Redwing.

Some more faces would be cool too
