Quick dodgy pic as I'm *cough* working, so not the best comparison but its not even close, this kills the MT one.

I will say I find the red too muted, especially next to the glorious cherry of the MT, but the light matt grey is spot on.

Great presence, feels good in hand, sculpt is superb, articulation is good and cleans up in bot mode like a champ.

I have a few small plaint blemishes, the null rays need work as they are waaaaaaaay to tight due to paint, but yeah Im in for the others and coneheads off this mold if they stay true to this.

    Brilliant figure.

NB; I'm not transforming it for now just in case the paint does need extra time to cure.

Edit, this seemed appropriate since they are on my desk at the mo, loving that.

Just got mine from Omega lock. Still in the box but will have a good look later. Can see where paint rubbing might be an issue but there's no denying it's a fantastic looking figure.

Just another quick thought - it is so bloody nice to see another 3rd party step up to the MP plate with a debut figure of this quality. Fans Toys should be nervous about this and X-Transbots should be shitting it. I suppose we need to wait and see whether this is just a rebrand of TE or a separate entity but I can't wait to see what they announce next!

Couldnt agree more. So sick of FT releases being £200 a time. XTransbots to be fair have been hammering out stuff that people actually want (rather than waiting 10 years for it via official or FT) and some of the releases will probably be ok (maybe)!! Im down for a Perceptor.

Goes really well, will have to disassemble Assaultus.

I thought somewhere up thread we learned a chinese reviewer knew the designer and it's the same guy for TE and DS. Probably as close as we'll ever get to a reliable confirmation.

I've been saying this since Open and Play came out with Big Spring. Smart, durable, efficient designs have a spot in this fandom.

Yep, but I'm still curious as to whether TE is now DS or whether both companies will release figures side by side. To be honest I've not felt any of the TE releases have been essential thus far, though their Mirage came closest. DS is currently batting 1 for 1, imho.

It's gotta be due to plastic quality in some way. That's really the only thing I can think of that would have anything to do with the time it takes for plastic in general to yellow.

NGL though i'd watch some Octobotimus reviews, hahahaha.

Sweet Jesus, yeah this is why i'm glad I cancelled my pre-orders. My best wishes to anyone still in on these but i'm not taking a chance with, IMO, disastrous paint chipping like that, hoo boy. Here's to hoping that the other DS Seekers end up a bit better.

So are the red and blue parts (excluding the hands) painted or unpainted on this guy?

So are the null rays just giving off that scary tight feeling enhanced by the squeaking or does it really feel like plastic is getting too close to the breaking point? Just curious because in the videos we've seen, despite the tight squeaking everyone just grabbed them and twisted them back and forth like it wasn't a concern. Also, I suppose all of the boxed copies we've been waiting for have had more time with them jammed in the ports allowing for more paint sticking to build up.

No reason concerning yourself. I'm going to test mine by lightly twisting them inside. If I feel like it's too tight and forced, I'm going to sand the peg.

So is this guy worth getting? Any widespread flaws? Is his transformation satisfying?

Wow, that's surprising and excellent to hear! I generally prefer the colors on this to MP-52 with the exception of the red and the color of the face - that being said, hearing that it's all painted makes it a much easier pill to swallow.

The null rays are separate in the box, but the short answer is they are ridiculously too tight.

Out the box you're had pressed to even get them in the peg holes, I've stripped the paint of the oags and they are still tighter than I'd like, major squeaks (the holes are painted too). Probably need a light sanding as well.

Edit, decided to forego sanding and applied some silicone lube for now, that seem to have made them acceptable.
If the paint wears in the holes then I don't want to risk them becoming loose due to the sanding.
