So I went to my K-Mart to get the Leader Brawl that's been sitting there for literally months. I get there and he's still there, but Deep Desert Brawl is ALSO sitting right next to it.

Now I never was a fan of the paint job, but when I actually saw each one right next to each other, Deep Desert Brawl was surprisingly the obvious choice. The All-Spark Blue doesn't look as good on him as Ironhide, but isn't as off as I originally thought.

Oddly, when I first saw DD Brawl at a store, I thought it looked worse in person. I admit I haven't actually bought and handled one though.

Counterpoint: Deep Desert Brawl is uglier in person.

Saw one the other day and it really didn't do it for me. The brown on his face and other parts looked bad, and hid a lot of detail, and the blue just looked weird and out of place on an otherwise decent desert camo scheme. It was an easy easy pass for me.

Still, I'm glad you liked it. The more toys Hasbro sells the more money they make to put into more Transformers R&D :)

Alas, to each his own, and I know I'm in the minority =D.

I honestly don't know WHY I prefer it. I think that the brighter colors just brings his out as a figure more, that's the only possible reason I can think.

Oh, I wasn't being sarcastic at all. I really am glad you like it. I just wasn't a big fan of it when I finally saw one in person. The whole "counterpoint" thing was just me being silly :)

No worries, I didn't think you were being dick-ish in the least.

And I do have to agree that the blue doesn't really match. The more I look at it, the dumber it looks on that paint scheme (so far the only figure it looks good on is Off-Road Ironhide). Everything light blue should have been that dark brown. But I still prefer the light tan over the deep green. Still not sure why ^_^

It does look better in person but I got Allspak Prime and Incinerator instead. He just doesnt have that grab to make me buy it.

Evac used the blue quite well, I thought. And I agree on the tan, the desert camo IS a nice color scheme, but that bright blue looks so damn out of place on it.

That damned baby blue still ruins it for me. Plus already having the original Leader Brawl release (and as much as I like the mold, I don't dig repaints so I don't intend to pick up another) DD Brawl doesn't really appeal to me. Also, looking at him now..I don't care for that brown/copper on him either.

The allspark blue isnt nearly as bad in person. Its more like a magnus blue.

I don't mind the baby blue, it's the shade of light tan that turns me off this figure. I LOVED it when we first saw photos, but the non-airbrushed, real-world shots I've seen since then make the tan look really milky and bright. And when so much of the figure is molded in that color, it washes out the detail and just makes it look a little KO-ish to me for some reason.

I love the brown inner treads, though... that actually helps to bring out MORE detail than the green version.

Honestly, my favorite Brawl color scheme has been the Deluxe version. his green is deeper, not as yellowish as Leader Brawl, and he doesn't have all the light-up transparent plastic of his larger incarnations. I was going to get rid of him when the Leader version came out, but looking at the two of them together, I couldn't bring myself to do it.

It does look better in person than in pics....but there's still no way I'm buying it despite it being a sweet mold. The Allpark blue has been fairly unobtrusive in all the other Allspark Power releases (IMO of course), but whoever decided to pair that light blue with tan needs a good slap in the face.

I'm not too fond of it. Saw it the other day and was glad I got the original Leader Brawl instead of waiting.
