Recently I've been taking some of my less-than-favorite TF toys and modifying them to serve as Transtectors for the many Titanmasters/Headmasters that don't have full-scale TF bodies they can control. (Naturally, I'm saving the removed heads for use on other customs.) Fall of Cybertron Topspin is not a great Transformer figure, but he's at least acceptable. (The weapon he comes with is pretty awesome, though.) There's a much better Topspin coming out any time now and I really don't buy this figure as the character, so off with his head! I cut the head off from the top of the torso and then popped off the head-cover panel to accommodate a Titanmaster driver for vehicle mode. I also drilled a hole in the top of the torso and crammed in a Zoids Blox/Z-Builders rubber socket and voila -- a fully-functional Titanmaster neck port. In vehicle mode there's no floor nor canopy for the driver's cockpit area, but oh well. I've yet to find an out-of-the-box Titanmaster whose colors work well with this body, but it's not a bad match for Overboard, really. I'd like to get some of those great custom Titanmaster faces off of Shapeways and paint one up to match this body. I'm a lazy/sloppy painter, though, so that might not happen. Nevertheless, I'm pleased enough with how this custom turned out that I'm probably gonna buy an FoC Blast Off and give it the same treatment.
1: This is awesome. 2: That head and the proportions give a kinda femme-bot vibe. 3: The TM just riding in the middle like that looks like one of those coin-operated kiddie rides outside the grocery store.
Aw. Thank you!!! You know, that you mention it, you're right! Interesting... [/QUOTE] Ha! Damn, now I'm never gonna be able to unsee that.
True, good point! Although considering that we're getting an official Topspin in the Titans Return line now anyway, that would be rather redundant. (Here's hoping that TR Topspin gets recolored and remolded into Twin Twist as well. Seems within the realm of possibility.)
