Recently I've been taking some of my less-than-favorite TF toys and modifying them to serve as Transtectors for the many Titanmasters/Headmasters that don't have full-scale TF bodies they can control. (Naturally, I'm saving the removed heads for use on other customs.) Armada Hoist (or reformatted Smokescreen, or Micron Legend Grap, or whatever) is one of the very few Armada toys that is actually a decent action figure. Reasonably posable, fairly interesting and unusual. Never liked the "I'm not Dinobot" head though, never felt any love for the character nor the show, so off with his head! I cut the head off from the folding panel and then cut down said panel to accommodate a Titanmaster driver for vehicle mode. That space in the back which is normally reserved for the head makes a pretty great cockpit. Anyway, I also drilled a hole in the roof and crammed in a Zoids Blox/Z-Builders rubber socket and voila -- a fully-functional Titanmaster neck port. (Hoist's Minicon, Refute, makes a halfway-decent mini-mecha for a Titanmaster to ride/control. I'l probably look around for a better match, though.) I've yet to find an out-of-the-box Titanmaster whose colors work well with this body, so for now I'm using Skytread (even though he's a 'Con and the body is clearly marked as a 'bot). I'd like to get some of those great custom Titanmaster faces off of Shapeways and paint one up to match this body. I'm a lazy/sloppy painter, though, so that might not happen. Nevertheless, I'm pleased enough with how this custom turned out that I'm probably gonna buy a TF Universe Ransack and give it the same treatment.
