I know this it's an infinite reposted theme, but, i think it's better to discuss all of this in this thread.

Your thoughts, your sentilents about the line, how do you feel, what do you want or wanted, FOR the Masterpiece line.

It's not to prove wich style it's better than the other, it's abot what you think for it.

    So....let's start.

I do like the modernized style of Hasui. To me it makes it more realistic for something that makes a product a masterpiece. Imagine if the Bay films adopted a similar style, instead of some random shit thrown together. There is nothing wrong with strict toon, but modern astetics is a big plus.

I could say more, but I'm on a damn Iphone.

Personally, i like both, but if was Takara, a vetter option would be having the cartoon or curvy proportions with a detailed sculpt, but not so many details as if it was a 3A figure.

About the topic, i feel they improved their engeenering when they wanted to make their bots with "simplistic" look, it takes a very hard work to be able to produce it, but however, there are some "features" that we lost with each release (depending on the character), as figure, i would chose megatron over the mp-10 optimus, but aesthetically, that Prime i'ts just love.

Yeah, Megs is pretty tight. I just love how the Datsuns bros, the Lambo molds and Wheeljack turned out. The engineering of the later figures are a lot of fun, even with going all toon. I collect them all, including Tracks and third party. The mixing of styles doesn't bother me at all since I doubt all of the figure will be of the same style.

I prefer toon style. Mainly because growing up in the 80's what we are now getting with MP Megatron, Sunstreaker, Grapple, and etc. is what I personally wanted my original Transformers to look like as a child. So, for me a true "Masterpiece" would look like it did in the cartoon.

Plus, to me the good thing about cartoon style is it's as Seth said a "simplistic look" so that allows for people to upgrade or add some customs and let their imagination go wild a little bit if they choose to do so.

    Prefer the original Masterpiece style.

As an 80s kid love to see more realistic and modernized interpretations of the TV series.

Love them both, but love toon more. The articulation being better than ever is the most important thing to me, though. But from Ironhide onwards it really feels like these releases are straight from the screen to my hands in 3D form, and I love that.

Hasui style don't look like Frankenstein creations with hinges and gaps all over the place.

Honestly, I’m not oblivious to the aesthetic differences, but it all seems to work pretty well.

One thing I did like about the older MPs was that anyone could look at one and at least somewhat see the version of that character that they were most familiar with (toy/toon/comic..). Newer MPs only really represent the cartoon version of that character. There’s nothing wrong with that (I still enjoy them) but I think it does give them a more limited appeal

No option for both. Both styles make for some of my favorite pieces in my collection.

On TFW you always have to choose. There is no gray area. Either you are a sworn Hasui-homeboy, or you're a yippeeKobayashi m***** f****** :bay
