Death Note - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "On January 13, 2011, it was announced that Shane Black, the director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, has been hired to direct the film, with the script being written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry." Hopefully this will get out of development limbo with the release of IRON MAN 3, as well as give Shane a little more creative control.
I have misgivings about this. The Japanese live action adaptation was pretty horrendous in my opinion.
Whatever they do. They need to keep Brian Drummond as the voice of Ryuk. Seriously his performance is creepy, disturbing and downright chilling. I can't see any other actor portraying that...well maybe Steve Blum but still.
Oh wow I didnt know they were still planning on making this. This my favorite manga ever so I hope they do it justice.
Lol, I thought this would never see the light of day when I first heard about it back in 2007. Guess it's actually going to happen! But they better not remove the Shinigami as was intended by Warner.
Shane Black Updates DOC SAVAGE And DEATH NOTE "Right now I’ve got this thing at Warner Bros. called Death Note that I like a lot. It’s a Japanese Manga that’s very tense and really cool." I'll take a grain of salt... and eat it.
What? They were well done imo. I would even go as far to say nearly as good as the actual series because they got to the point quicker(None of Near and Mello, who I honestly felt dragged the series down)while still being great representations. I really don't like the idea of an American version though. I'm still scarred for life after Dragon Ball Evolution.
Hollywood's Live-Action DEATH NOTE Film Revived With Adam Wingard Well, it's still on. Just that Black isn't doing it now.
I hope they keep the potato chip eating scene. "I'll take a potato chip.... AND I'LL EAT IT!" *cue dramatic monastic chorus score*
Ezra would certainly work as L, but I don't know about Dane as Light. Maybe someone a little less... weird looking.
No. Just no. Leave anime to the Japanese. This is why America sucks so much in the theatrical department. We can only copy off other peoples work.
Former SPIDER-MAN Contender Natt Wolff Joins Live-Action DEATH NOTE Movie We have our Light. And a synopsis. "A student discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone simply by writing the victim’s name. A cat-and-mouse game ensues when he’s tracked by a reclusive police officer."
Warner Bros.' 'Death Note' Finds Its Female Lead - Spinoff Online - TV, Film, and Entertainment News DailySpinoff Online – TV, Film, and Entertainment News Daily The daughter of actress Andie MacDowell, Margaret Qualley will star as Misa Amane in Warner Bros.’ live-action adaptation of “Death Note."
Misa kinda gave me funny feelings when I watched the show, kinda like climbing the rope in gym class. Does this make me weird?
So.... another case of white actors playing characters with Japanese names? At least change the names up, yeah?
