I want to start collecting Deadpool but being that his books have been out for a long time I don't know where to start. I got issues 1-16 for Cable/Deadpool series from ebay recently but want to get more. Are there any paperback that's easy to find still? Let me hear your recommendations. Thanks.

    Ebay:
Cable/Deadpool trades are all fairly new and as such, easy to find. The 4th volume just came out this past week. It took me some searching awhile ago but I was able to track down the Deadpool: The Circle Chase (circle chase mini series) and the Deadpool: Mission Improbable trades (first few issues of his ongoing). You can usually find some lots for the ongoing series on eBay, the ending of that series is where it'll kind of be a pain to find (at least awhile ago). Although I haven't looked in awhile I think it's issue 65 to 69 (last issue) with the last arc that leads into Agent X, which is another series you'll want to pick up (it's only 12 or 13 issues I think).

    Edit:
Here's an auction for the Mission Improbable trade: http://www.qksrv.net/click-1645815-5463217?loc=http://cgi.ebay.com/Deadpool-Mission-Improbable-TPB-Comic-Book_W0QQitemZ6612388408QQcategoryZ35765QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Ends in 22 hours so watch it if you're interested. There's also a copy of the Circle Chase in an ebay store for $20.

Deadpool was a fantastic run throughout the entire series except one part but at least it made sense.

The initial run was by Joe Kelly. Pure gold.
Then Jimmy Palmiotti took over. It was still very entertaining.
Then Buddy Scalera. This was the Agent of Weapon X and Death of Deadpool arcs. Not that great but still have their moments.
Then Gail Simone took over. HILARIOUS.
Became Agent X and Gail stayed on. Even more HILARIOUS.
    Then became Cable/Deadpool.

Do they have paperback for the entire DP run? I doubt I can still find issue #1 now.. or it'll cost $$$ to get.

Is Agent X the new codename for Deadpool when Marvel refused to pay Rob Liefield for rights to the name. Did they change his appearance as well for copyright reasons? If so I'd like to see a pic of it thanks.

I could try to explain Agent X, but I think this will help a lot more:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agent_X

He's not really Deadpool, but a different character alltogether but with similar traits.

In case you are lazy. here's the entire Agent X story.

Deadpool's secretary is on the way home. Deadpool has been missing since after the explosion from Deadpool 69. A horribly scarred guy appears in the parking lot. She takes him in and with Outlaw, teaches him to be an assassin. Turns out they think he is Deadpool but has better skills. Same wise cracks though.
Anyway, after some crazy adventures they have the Return of Deadpool. Turns out that Agent X was the Black Swan's assistant whom he killed. During the explosion, the Black Swan's power of "downloading" people's minds went haywire. The dead body, Deadpool, and Swan all switched personality parts and powers. The dead body became Agent X. Deadpool was made a 2 yr old, and Swan was given a taste for crude jokes and fart noises. They manage to give DP back his personality and Agent X also was able to keep his personality. Swan was dead and Deadpool had him stuffed. No really. They have vacation photos.

I had forgotten about some of that. Time to break out Simone's run and re-read it.

Ha haa, reading this stuff reminds me why he's such a great character. (Even if Liefeld created him)
