So yesterday this shows up on youtube saying that EA may bring back Dead Space and will officially showcase it next month. Pretty big news given that the franchise was well dead for a decade so if this ends up as at least a remastered port of the Dead Space Trilogy I wouldn't be opposed to it since I never got to play the original games.

 

Maybe they will rerelease the Dead Space mobile game. That game was amazing at the time it came out. I hate I can't play it on my iphone anymore.

 

So latest news of the Dead Space revival is actually in the form of a remake of the first game similar to how Resident Evil 2's own remake was approached as well as Destroy All humans from the sounds of it. On one hand seeing the game in next gen graphics would make it more amazing and horrifying then before but on the other hand the original game's graphics still hold up very well to the point where a simple remastering would've been enough.

 

On one hand, Dead Space has to be my favorite game franchise by far, I've been in love with the setting ever since I played the demo at my friends house back in 2008. I've put so many countless hours into every game (even the third one) it's unreal lmao. A new Dead Space, even a remake of the first one sounds like an absolute dream.

That said, I just don't trust EA, and haven't since well, what they did to the franchise the first time around. The fact that none of the original team will likely be working on it (considering they're doing the Callisto Protocol) worries me. Motive seems like a good studio, but they only really have Squadrons under their belt, so I don't really know what they're capable of.

Despite knowing I shouldn't be, I'm hyped. And hell, even if it sucks, the Callisto Protocol sounds like it'll be a good spiritual successor, what with the original devs working on it. That game, as good as it is, just won't be Dead Space though, so I'm hoping they knock this remake out of the park.

Make us Whole Again.

 

I'd be happy if they just ported the first two Dead Space games to the switch.

 

First teaser is revealed and will be for the PS5, Current X-Box system and PC. To quote a famous song from Scooby Doo on Zombie Island it's terror time again.

I'm in love with this game. As perf ft of a remake as you can get.

However my fear, this being EA, is part of a bait and switch. Build good will, then go back to being a scumbag publisher for the DS2 remake. I loved DS2 a ton and if EA fucks this one I'm literally gonna riot.
