We already have enough prequels as is. Unless of course this deals with how the red marker got on Aegis 7.
Information on how things started should really be in the game, and origin storys are best told in the background as the story actually progresses. You know, it's a tough situation. I am glad companies want to expand on a given universe to add dimension and depth to it, but most of the time it comes off as a ploy to make some additional funds. In addition, I really would like all integeral information in a gaming universe to be... in the game. I don't want to read supplementary comics or see add on movies. I just want to play the game, and to know I don't get the "whole story" from that game is disheartening and makes me less motivated to play it. Just because a game is so good it seems like it is good enough for another media doesn't mean it should be shared on all medias. Can't a game just be a damn game?
Agreed. Look at the rumored Bioshock game: development hell. The rumored Halo movie from a while ago never made it off the ground. Let it be a game franchise and forgot about movies that will probably suck if made.
Actually, I hear that its bridging the gap between the first and second game. So it serves as a sequel and a prequel. Don't know anything about the story or anything like that. But... fingers crossed for something good if its being made by EA.
