A question as old as time its self what is the better franchise DC or Marvel. Now this can be discussed on different levels but what i want to discuss here is what has the better comics. For me i have an unfair answer... I like DC better in terms of the comics. This is because their comics are easier to get into then Marvel. Now my primary comics are Batman and IDW Transformers (Iam taken a break from TF comics because well thats a whole other topic) But now i have been reading Batman, Superman, and a little Green Arrow and Wonder Woman this is because well i read Batman because he is BATMAN! Also since i am taking a TF break in terms of comics i can focus on others such as the one previously mentioned and so far aim enjoying the DC comics i have been reading. (Besides The New 52: Batman #12 i mean who cares about some girl with a nose ring in the sewer) But besides the one issue Batman never disappoints me. But the reason why my answer is unfair is because as said before Marvel harder to become interested in. This is because they CONSTANTLY renumber there series to CHANGE THE TITLE OF THE COMIC BOOK AND CONTINUE THE NUMBERS EX: Tales of Suspense to Captain America and Journey in Mystery to Thor. I mean that kind of confusing. I have read a very small hand full of Marvel comics and although there good there to complicated to keep track with the constant change in title and numbering. So in terms of comics DC is better

Neither, both have their up and down periods and it changes from year to year. And I believe this is the 5th poll of this type in the last year or two.

    Historically? DC.
Right now? Both are equally bad.

When I was 6, I liked DC more. They had the iconic characters I could see on tv and cool powers. At age 6, that was kind of enough.

When I was 13, I liked Marvel more. They had angsty melodrama that appealed to me as an angsty teenager.

By the time I was 24 or so, I had mostly grown out of angst, and if I wanted to get some real human drama, there were a ton of independent comics that did actual human drama featuring believable human characters a million times better than Marvel's repetitive and shallow melodrama. For super-hero action, DC started to appeal to me more.

And pretty much ever since then, I've enjoyed DC much more than Marvel... with the odd exception of truly exceptional Marvel books like Alias or something. But those are pretty rare.

DC because they have Superman and Batman. I do like Spiderman and Wolverine but Wolverine's always loses against Magneto.

Well holy shit. Me and Spiderus are thinking alike.

DC: "We've got Superman, Batman, Green Lantern...."
    Marvel: "We've got a Hulk."
    :lol

    Yeah that works too.

I'd throw in Firestorm, Red Tornado, and Doctor Fate in there too :)

Both have fucked-to-hell-and-back continuities that desperately try to use every cliche available to push new "events" and sell more issues, in a never ending loop of ripping off the other other company and desperately trying to capitalize on the success of their characters in other media forms, all the while appealing mainly to a dwindling, aging audience rather than new fans and young readers.
