I'm glad to read that you guys have been able to locate the 5-packs, at least I know they are out there somewhere! I haven't seen hide or hair of them in my area, though the Hal/Abin 2 packs have shown up again in the local TRUs. I really need to grab a few of those for customs.
If anyone is willing to snag an extra 5 pack I'd happily make it worth your while, I've even got a couple of Hailstorms, WFC Soundwaves, and Animated Rodimus for trade fodder.

 

Got myself a loose Wave 1 Bats on Sunday, from a local toy shop surprisingly. Love the figure, but I don't really like the two-tone face mask. Any advice on paints to use for repainting?

 

I like the Folk Art brand of acrylics that you can find at Wal-Mart of any arts and crafts store. I know there are more "professional" paints out there, but for $1 a bottle, it can't be beat.

 

Well I finally did it. I opened 16 figures from my collection in the last few days. Here's the list:

wave 3: Robin, GL, Sinestro
wave 4: WW
Wave 6: Dr. Impossible, Superman, Hawkman, Shazam, Killer Moth
Wave 8: Green & Red Parademons, Modern Dr. Fate
Wave 10: Batman
Wave 12: GITD Spectre, Copperhead
All Star: Green Arrow

Of all 16 only 2 had QC issues: GL- both elbows stuck in position from
package, Killer moth- right frozen sholder.

Used the freezer trick on both of these guys and it worked like a charm. Very pleased with all the figures.

 

Picked up the GL 5-pack this morning. Was very pleased with the quality despite it being a very very half-hearted attempt for a GL combo pack.

Honestly, if Mattel could have just gone the extra mile and remolded Sinestro and JS's heads, then it there wouldn't be much room to complain.

 

Rather early, but BBTS has put up pre-orders for:

DC Universe Classics - Series 17 - Set of 7 with Build-A-Figure - DC Universe Classics Series 17

and

Green Lantern Classics Series 02 - Set of 6 with Build-A-Figure - Green Lantern Green Lantern Classics

I went ahead and got my foot in the door just in case either/both of these end up as another wave 8 situation.

 

Yeah, saw those two today... I'll wait a bit. I usually end up picking the figures up piecemeal on BBTS anyways as it always seems to take them so long to get their whole sets 'in stock'... I'm very impatient.  

 

For those looking, the GL set is up on walmart.com. beats searching high and low for em.

 

Holy crap. Not only is a DCUC product on walmart.com, but an exclusive one? Fingers crossed for wave 14 going up there.

 

Good lord, is that Guy Gardner or Larfleeze? I hope that head sculpt isn't as atrocious (ha!) as it looks in the picture.
