I read a bunch of that not too long ago and it was fun. And I don't know what the general opinion on The Superior Spider-Man was, but I loved that whole run.

And unlike that standalone Bane that was released, this one comes with fists

Now to wait for the pre-order.

After that I just want a classic Deathstroke.

    Then I'm good with DC.

I love that Mike Grell Green Arrow, but it's still not the classic look I want.

I’m pumped since it’s his 90s look as well so slots in perfectly into the collection.

Wonder if Todd will go all the way and give us 90s Connor Hawke? We are rumored to be getting Despero, Darkseid, and Huntress, Todd is only Connor and Black Lightning away from remaking the Total Justice lineup.

They are definitely aware of the line with that Platinum Aquaman nod.

Looks okay, but I want the Neal Adams Green Arrow. I'll wait for that version... if it ever happens.

    Understandable.

We all have our preferred looks for characters.

This is the look from DC Icons.

Which was from the story The Longbow Hunters.

Deathstroke was from the Judas Contract.

I also had Harley Quinn from DC Icons.

Not terribly interested in an update of her though.

    Edit -

I would not be opposed to a silver or bronze age Superman.

As I want a classic look to go with Knightfall Batman.

My father's favorite superhero was Superman.

My favorite DC character is Batman.

So anytime I get a Batman figure.

I want a Superman from a similar time frame.

Glad to see that McFarlane isn't breaking his trend of shitty Superman figures any time soon. Jesus christ.... Whoever's in charge of the Superman franchise in his company needs a good slap to the head.

Lol…I like a lot of what McFarlane is doing, but I can’t disagree with you when it comes to Superman. What’s frustrating to me, is I feel like he’s actually come close to a good Superman a couple of times but there were just details that were off on even those, that killed the whole thing for me.

    Sure looks like it.

I only bought that inflated, Morrison Superman to get Krypto, and he goes better with the smiling Superman.

I have Man Bat in my Pile of Loot, otherwise I’m all caught on my Batman rogues till Joker & Punchline drop in July. Not replacing Arkham Penguin with the Collectors Edition or Mr Freeze with the animated colors.

Y’know what, I forgot Ed McGuinness was one of the Superman artists at the time, that actually is fair enough. For some reason, Our Worlds At War just makes me think of Pascual Ferry’s art.

Honestly, I didn't know that either.

    I looked it up.

I stopped reading/collecting comics in the early 2000s.

Watch a lot of comic book content creators.

To keep someone up to date.

Even went back to catch up on events I missed.

Plus, I go to my public library once a month.

Just to see what they have in trade paperbacks.

    Or graphic novels.

That's supposed to be McGuiness? Lol, I assumed it was Romita Jr. And I think it's funny they made his under roos mostly black to match that one pitcture, lol.

Forgot about those. Yes, I agree, those were on point.

Personally, I’m a little bit biased in the direction of wanting a figure based on the silver age Superman.

I realize a lot of McFarlane’s attempts at Superman are based on more modern takes on Superman, but I still have found a lot of those to be a little bit off too.

Admittedly, some of it is personal preference too though. I’ve never preferred the “hulking” body style that McFarlane uses for a lot of its Superman figures.

Have to disagree on that JMS run. I didn't like it from the beginning and never actually made it to the more maligned stuff that came at the end. Peter as a teacher never rang true to me, and that arc with Morlun and Ezekiel just dragged on and on and on. I think I read some BND, most of Slott's run later, but it felt wrong after what they had done, like the character was so broken that it simply wasn't Peter Parker anymore but the fan fiction version. I mean yeah, there was bad stuff before JMS, but his first issue is where I didn't recognize my Spider-Man anymore. Spider-Man hasn't felt like Spider-Man to me for twenty years, so my brain files the content that way.

With DC, I like some of the content from New52 forward (Azarello Wonder Woman for instance) but I treat it as its own thing. To me, not the DC Universe anymore, just an alternate take on a DC property. Again, the wizards there broke a continuity I loved so badly that I could never accept what followed as "real DC" so I largely ignore it and am generally happier as a result.

I contend a lot of serial fiction is better if you quit at the right time, before it goes sour. Quit Happy Days before Fonzie jumps the shark, GoT one season before it ends, The Simpson's just before the one with Betty White... Or, mentally block it out once new entries start to feel wrong.
