Only time I've run into a failure with a Target preorder was when you could get the WFC Voyagers for $15 and they canceled my Quintesson. Been able to get anything else even with a discount applied since then, whether Mattel or McFarlane - I don't think I've gotten any Hasbro stuff on sale since then online, I forget.
My preorder for Suit of Armor Monkey Man has been delayed more times than I care to count. Of course I find him while hunting for Classified Bludd.
So I have no idea what they choose to put in this promotion, but Amazon has a B1G1 50% off right now. There are three Mcfarlane figures there, all at different pricepoints: Superman vs. Devastator: 39.99 Death Metal Batcycle: 24.99 John Stewart: 19.99 I guess I'll get Stewart and the Batcycle even though it's not optimal. They also have the Spinmaster Batcave for 37.99 if you're into that line (and want something to pair with the Supes two pack)
Target had the same sale running but all they have in stores here is an awful version of the Joker. Literally something like 20 of them on the shelf. BXGY sales work better when there's some variety.
I got that Joker and his leg snapped off. Do we know anything more about the armored Darkseid? I know he is an exclusive, don’t want to miss out!
DC Multiverse May Update 2 - Batman Beyond, John Stewart, Bizarro, Injustice & More! - The Toyark - News
I stuck to my guns & repeatedly passed on Death Metal Batman each time I saw him at Target... because this was the one I really wanted: Ugly-ass looking ankles aside, I love this figure. Unfortunately, the Plasti-tar disappoints in a number of ways: - There's very little paint on it. There's some yellow & black on the head & tuners, as well as the two accents on the body. But, that's it. None of the strings, pickups, volume knobs, or whammy have any paint on them, and they desperately need it. Even in my blurry photo, you can see what a difference some silver & panel liner makes. - No chain, or any other kind of strap. There's actually a hole (or a place for one, really) sculpted where the chain should go up near the head, but I had to drill through it in order to place my own chain there. There IS a hole in the "scythe" portion of the body, so that's helpful. But really, the guitar very much needs the chain to rest over Bruce's shoulder because... - The plastic is incredibly soft and flexible, to the point of not holding up to gravity. The neck fits snugly into Bruce's left hand (complete with sculpted & tampo'd Black Lantern ring!) but without anything to support the body, it's gonna wilt like a 70 year-old who's run out of Viagra. And even with a chain/strap for support, you have to be very precise in how you position that left arm. You can see above how the upper part of the neck is slightly twisting away from Batman. I don't know what happened - McFarlane's done plenty of guitar accessories & they never had these kinds of issues. Now, what we really need is a Batgirl from Batmetal Forever
The left hand has a tight enough grip that it'll still hold the neck if you place it in upside down, but the right hand is fixed in what I'd call a "lightsaber grip" pose & not suited to grip anything on the guitar itself.
If you mean so that the scythe part would point forward, it doesn't seem like the hand's capable of holding it that way. The wrist can't swivel enough in either direction to make the hand's grip face forward.
