Something weird is going on with DC and Comixology.

This will seem random, but there is no new sale for DC comics today. For the last few years every Tuesday brought a sale of some sort for DC comics. The only current sale on Comixology is the Pride Month sale that ends tomorrow.

On its own I’d have thought it was a mistake, but with the DC app closing it really sticks out.

 

I hope it’s nothing, I’ve still got a lot of stuff on my wishlist that’s from DC. It’s the biggest remaining portion of it.

Because of the way they price their trades, I can only buy one at a time off sale. So my progress with it is always slow.

Whereas with Marvel I can buy upwards of three trades at a time.

 

I don’t see any recent stories covering this, at least nothing newer than the story on the dc app. It’s just weird.

 

Finally read the second Suicide Squad series. Was pretty entertaining but damn did this need to be a longer comic. So many issues just ended up raising more questions that would never be answered... What became of Blackstarr and the island she teleported away? Who the Hell were Rock and Bulldozer actually? And the remaining members of Onslaught? They just never show up again?

Well, I'm glad I finally got to read it anyway. Now to get through all of the Rebirth Suicide Squad which I can already tell I'm not gonna be nearly as invested in...

 

When you get to the Tom Taylor series, it gets a lot better.

 

Just a follow up. As of today there are no active sales for DC on comixology. It looks like they had new comics Tuesday and Wednesday. So it looks like they’re still publishing through comixology.

I wouldn’t worry too much till Tuesday. But if there is no active sales posted for DC on Tuesday then that would mean something is really up.

I like the new look. It's classic enough for me, and an improvement over other recent redesigns, imo.

 

In all honesty I felt Barbara was a stronger character as Oracle and Cassandra earned the mantle and should have stayed Batgirl instead of being replaced by Stephanie who was better off as Spoiler.

 

Same here. Cass sure gets the short end of the stick a lot. Wasn't she literally adopted by Bruce Wayne just months before New 52 took that away? Poor girl!

 

It's been a few years, but if I remember correctly Bruce was going to adopt Cass, but then he died and she ended up in character limbo before being turned into the Black Bat and sent away to China as part of Batman Inc.

 

It's possible, I remember Morrison's big run happening at the same time New 52 did, and I'm just going by pure memory so I may have the timeline fuddled. I just remember Bruce announcing he was going to adopt both her and Tim since by that time, both of Tim's parents died in the pre-52 universe.

 

Batman Inc. happened before the New 52, but DC was trying to have their cake and eat it too by saying that all of the major stuff that happened in Green Lantern and Batman comics, such as Blackest Night and Batman Incorporated, still happened even though a lot of characters histories we're changed.

Bruce adopted Tim pre-New 52.

 

Months in universe with the sliding timeline maybe. It was 3 years between the publication of Bruce's intention to adopt and the 52 reboot.

 

Thanks for clearing that up, it's been so long, a lot of the pre-52 history just muddled together in my memory.

 

As a character, Barbara was much stronger as Oracle. Agreed about Cass and Stephanie, too.

 

I like it same as I liked the New 52 costume.
