Aww, man I really like Silencer! But on the otherhand, she is probably better as a secondary character that pops up in Batman from time to time.

Terrifics is a decent book too.

Good lord that's scary. They are now in such desperate shape that they can't promote from within? They don't have someone in mind for the position that they can headhunt away from somewhere else? They have to put out an open call? Between this and the layoffs and the cutbacks, this seems like the shakiest ground I've seen DC on in my lifetime. It's like WB moved them out to the West Coast and is now seeing firsthand what a hanging-on-by-a-thread world the comics industry is and they're panicking.

Electric Warriors has been really great up until now. Steve Orlando has delivered a fantastic story with great characters. The art is great, too. But without spoiling anything, this week's issue is kind of problematic unless this is all going to be revealed as an alternate universe story. I can't tell if it's about to fly off the rails due to ignorant editorial oversight, or if Orlando has some plan to have it all make sense when the mini ends next month.

I'm worried, even though it's still an enjoyable book.

Oh my, that's an unfortunate design.

Mahnke is better than this! Much better! But that helmet makes him look more like Teddy Bear Man than an Arkham Knight.

Also, those shiny narration captions are too busy and compete with the art. Lettering should accent the art, not compete with it.

Man that Arkham Knight design is kinda bad - looks like it came out of the 90s, and even then I don't feel like it's better than Quesada's Azbats design.

It's not even all that different than the video game character design. I don't know why it looks so crappy when translated to the comic page. Especially by such a great artist. But it does. Look crappy.

Quite a lot of valid criticisms I see...

Well, Doug Mahnke isn’t going to be the main artist for the Arkham Knight saga, it’ll be Brad Walker. Here’s the cover #1001 and #1002:

Out of interest, does this look better?

Been trying to read through the rest of my Suicide Squad silver age volume. The Star Spangled War Stories issues are pretty rough. I honestly don't know if I can even get through them. He's only in 4 issues, but Morgan is easily the most unlikable character I've ever seen...

Mahnke is by far the better artist. Not even the same ballpark. But the top Walker illustration at least makes Arkham Knight look a little bit cool. But that's just the angle and coloring, because in the next image he looks lame again.

Agreed. I think you've seen the last of Morgan if he's turned up four times, but all those "two Suicide Squad members vs. dinosaurs" are pretty interchangeable. There are one or two standouts though.

The first half of the book with the four person Squad led by Rick Flag is not half bad.

Yeah, I mostly got it for the Brave and the Bold issues since those characters and events are canon with the 80's version of the team. I don't think any of the two man squad characters are ever brought up again.

I like how the Arkham Knight looks a little more well knightish here.

He doesn't understand the character at all if that's his opinion of Batman. I'm glad he's gone.

He doesn't understand anything about any of the characters, and I'm glad he's gone too. I just wish it could have been sooner before he did so much damage to the DC brand.

Summarising Tom King’s work this week with two panels:

I’m not liking the vibes from this...

It’s nice to get a light hearted Batman story...it feels like it’s been a while, especially from King.
