So, I'm sure some of you remember me posting about 2 years or so ago about how they were remaking DayOTD. They even had this sweet poster at Cannes... Well, they had a brief teaser trailer leak last spring, and apparently the movie sucks so bad that they are gonna release it straight to DVD. "It looks like the film is bypassing the supposed theatrical release and going straight to DVD via First Look Home Entertainment on April 8th. So far, you can expect a commentary track with writer Jeffrey Reddick, director Steve Miner and some of the cast members. An "Internet Only" trailer and alternate ending will also make an appearance." Look at this shitty cover... *sigh* Lame... I had hopes for this flick, as it was initially supposed to be in the same remake vein as the Dawn remake, which was nowhere near the awesomeness of the classic, but still pretty damn good for a remake. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, it does have Nick Cannon in it. Here's the IMDB for the turd... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0489018/ BUT, at least we'll get Diary of the Dead this year, a REAL Romero Zombie flick.
Yeah after the trailer I'm not surprised at all, certainly didn't look appealing to me at all and I love zombies and brains and graag and and and you know. Similarly, I also liked the Dawn remake and hoped this one would be in the same vein, but alas. Still, I bet it's better than House of the Dead a thousand times over
I thought Diary of the Dead was not about zombies whatsoever, but some book written by a war survivor or something. EDIT: Nevermind.....just read the imdb, sounds promising.
"A group of film students are making an independent mummy horror film when they become trapped in a world being consumed by flesh-eating zombies. They then turn their attention toward making the film into a documentary on their real life horror experience."
ving rhames, hmm. hey mina suvari. wasnt she the chick with the itty bitty titties from american beauty? man that movie was emo as hell.
naw the chick wasnt emo, but the 2 protagonist (the brunette with the sweater puppies and the weed seller guy) were.
I thought Dawn of the Dead was quite good, not as good as the original, but still worth shelling out for the DVD. I was hoping Day of the Dead would be a decent remake... oh well.
Ugh, I'm sick of remakes. I agree the Dawn of the Dead remake was suprisingly good, not so much a remake as much as just sharing the same general premise. Steve Miner, I loved F13th part 2 and 3, H20 not so much, and this looks even worse, 'tis a shame.
Is that a zombie barfing up body parts? That's just gross. Why would a zombie throw up in the first place? So dumb.
Maybe he's bulimic. "Oh, I'm so fat and gross. I shouldn't have eaten that last pancreas. *gag* BLECH!"
Maybe that zombie has crazy super powers and is actually sucking someone into his waiting gullet piece by piece? JUST YOU THINK ABOUT IT
I think that is the stupidest DVD cover I have ever seen. Who in the hell would look at that and go "Yeah, that is what this movie is all about." EDIT: I just watched the trailer, and I don't see how it is a remake of Day of the Dead at all. Other than the fact that there are zombies I see no connection.
Yeah, the cover is idiotic.... Just watched the trailer, and yeah, its in no way connected to the first "Dawn remake"....at least it didnt seem like it. ...bummer too.... it would have been cool to see a continuation of the "Dawn remake" with Ving in it.... I actually enjoyed that flick....it was pretty cool to see fast moving Zombies
