Haven't tuned into SNL in years. I might do so for Dave.

I'll check it out. What is this ban that you speak of?

He wasn't allowed to make to make new movies or TV after he broke his $50 million deal with Comedy central for seasons 3-5 of his show. So he wasn't allowed to make any new movies, or shows for several years. He could only do interviews and live tours. I think he had an exclusivity clause in his contracts they enforced.

This gives me a reason to watch SNL again. I'm excited to see Dave do his thing on TV again.

Yah I also thought Chapelle was banned from SNL. Usually when someone is hosting SNL it's like an appearance on a talk show they are there to promote something. Take last nights show for instance. Benedict Cumberbatch was hosting because he is promoting Doctor Strange. Just wondering if Dave Chapelle is promoting something (as I realize that hosting SNL isn't always about promoting something but about 95% of the time it is) or if Chapelle is going to announce something.
As for the ban I think it was like a Martin Lawrence thing (who is also banned from SNL) where Chapelle went off script and said some not only non-approved things but things that aren't allowed to be broadcast on television especially a live television show.

Not sure if Chapelle is on this list as I haven't seen the video but here are some other people who are banned from SNL.

NEVERMIND this one is a little better as it gives reasons why they were banned it just doesn't give as many people.

If you were a fan of the Chappelle show a lot of your favorite characters show up.....all together...in one skit.

I doubt even Dave can make SNL funny.

I forgot to watch it live but caught some Youtube clips this morning. Walking Dead Chappelle's show was great. His opening monologue was also very good.

The only thing good about last nights SNL was A Tribe Called Quest.

I think the last time I watched Saturday Night Live was the first time The Rock hosted Saturday Night Live. A load of people that I didn't know on the show.

I loved the Dave Chappelle parts. A fan of his comedy and the long break hasn't dulled my enjoyment of style of comedy a bit. Just didn't feel like I'm sold on Saturday Night Live but if Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon could offer Dave a new sketch show I'd be there for that.

I'm sure any network would love to have him do a show. I just don't think he wants to do it.

Dave Chapelle was what the show needed last night. Lots of laughs, lots of heart, and he had some pretty important shit to say. If you loved his old characters you're in for a special treat during a Walking Dead skit.

I've really been liking SNL for the past decade, and the last time I could say that was back in the late 80's/early 90's. And this was as good an episode as I was expecting. I mean, Dave Chappelle and Tribe Called Quest?! How could you go wrong?!?
