I just watched an old movie called 'Willow' again and I laughed my ass off when I saw a Vader cameo. Some would think this to be just a coincedence but I don't think so, considering the fact that the story for the movie was writen by George Lucas (he is also an executive producer) and the movie was made by Lucas Film. Anyway here are some pics I took: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v722/misha1980xl/darth1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v722/misha1980xl/darth2.jpg
well, Willow had a cameo in episode 1 (he was in the audience for the pod race), so I doubt it's a coincidence.
Yeah, I too caught Warwick Davis in the audience for the Mos Espa Podrace, but I was thinking Lucas probably used him as a body to fill an empty spot, not only because of Willow, but because he was Wicket the Ewok in Return Of The Jedi. Coincidence is not one of Lucas' strongpoints, he's just blatent in his visuals and eyecandy.
according to imdb.com wicket's last name is warrick....i wonder if that was actually used, or if some fan submitted it....
No, that's always been his name, but they never say it in the movies. There's a lot of extra details about pretty much every character in the movies that is expanded upon either officially or in expanded universe. Just one of those things. Warwick Davis also played Wald, the little "Greedo kid" in episode 1. -Dusty
I think Lucas has a thing for 'little people'. Perhaps he owns them, what you would call a life debt.
He looks Vader-ish to me as well. Either Lucas is paying a little tribute (since he had 1,000's of other desing choices to choose from) or he has a thing for dark knights who all have the dark helmet head, Maybe it's a shape that use to scare him when he was little from shadows and crap. Im also drinking a soda with lotsa caffeine. Atleast I admit it
It is as much of a coincidence as the name of the club in the begining of Temple of Doom was Club Obi Wan.
I'm not a Star Wars freak, but I remember from collecting the movie cards that his name was "Wicket W. Warwick". I think the reason he put him in the pod race scene was so that he could appear on screen in a SW movie once without make-up or anytthing, I think he did the same for Anthony Daniels.
In the first sequence of 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' the club that Indiana came out of was called Club Obi-wan. Just like the plane that Indiana escapes on in Raiders has the tag 'C-3p0'. Davis is an actor, lucas gave him a part maybe cause he knew him from before. It's like saying, Indian jones was in Starwars.
I watched the Seven Samurai today, it has Darth Vader homages all over that shit. Georgey boy should sue those guys!
